10 May 1986
« on: January 28, 2005, 10:53:52 pm »
One of the greatest days of my life. Watched the old vhs of the game, and the build up hundreds of times. Bought the dvd at the weekend. Got some ales in tonight, sat back excitedly ready for a treat. AAAARRRGGHHHH its not BBC its ITV.

I've relived that day so many times with BBC, great commentary superb crowd shots. Shots of David Moores after each goal, in amongst "normal"fans. Lines such as "the men in the white coats tell the story", "the referee was knocked over in the excitement",  "theres a party going on up there amongst the Liverpool  fans".

Tonight I got David Pleat. Absolute shite. Now I need to buy a new video player and find the old tape. Technology?? Shove it up yr arse!

1. Borrow a mates old VHS player - FREE OR a cheapie second hand unit - 30 SQUID
2. Buy a decent AV capture card and install into your pc - 100 squid
3. Cabling from video to capture card - 5 SQUID
4. Capture and encode all your old VHS tapes and store on pc (AVI format takes up space so be careful of disk capacity)
5. Burn to DVD - 5 SQUID per 10 blank dvd disks.
OR
6 Burn to CD in VCD format - any good DVD player can play VCD.

TOTAL: 140 SQUID

Then sit back and relax with your new technology-enhanced LFC vids, a six pack of Tennants lager and a bag of crisps. Now thats what I call a good time  :lickin

1 to 6 no probs,but tennants lager? >:(

Agreed, BBC is/was far better than ITV.

Still one of my biggest dissapointments as a red, not getting a ticket for that game.

I agree with you!  I've still got the tape at me parents house, some classic Motty quotes in his commentary, including my signature  ;)
Houses smell of mushy peas, cat piss, dope and (in the more extreme cases in West Yorks) ammunition.  Wives look like scarred pitbull terriers.  Children are feral, resembling hungry monkeys.  Bloke wears vests a lot.  Tracksuit bottoms.  Slippers.  Few tattoos.  Wishes he'd joined the army, pretends he was a Para.  Spends too much time wanking...
