Like rubber necking an accident, you know you shouldn't look but you just can't help it.

WBA are horrific.

PS: Perhaps Robson should have had Riise Man-Marked.

simple walk in the park today.  Riise my motm for today, attacking wise he was just fantastic and could easily had twice as many goals.

But Contra what an idiot he is.

Reminds me our last trip to the Hawthorns. Fantastic performance my MOM is Riise, Nunez's best display for us so far and I'm delighted Garcia scored he deserved it. Nice performance from Florent Sinama-Pongolle as well. Nice to see Robbie Fowler and Emile Heskey scoring today as well.

Poor Bryan Robson. :'(

Anyway, below-par first half from both sides but after they'd gone down to men it was simple. We rested four first team players too so a good day all round.

West Brom are absolutely awful though.

great result, not much to beat, but you can only beat what's in front of you, thought second half we played well and coulda scored double, my man of the match was riise, been in for a lot of stick but the last few weeks he's been playing well again, another good result against saints and i think we'll really be up for the chelsea game, and i'd be confident in any team RB puts out he knows his stuff, and i can see another arsenal coming off, come on red men

So much for all the 'this lineup is crap' comments on the ingame thread.  ::)

Good second half performance, especially from Garcia, Pongolle, Riise and Xabi. Nunez looked good too.

Roll on Tuesday. No point in this if we dont build on it.

Think Nunez deserves a mention for his quickly whipped in crosses, good movement and lay offs. WBA didn't know where he was half the time.

And JAR... You beauty. Love it when he gets into the groove like that, must make defences shit themselves.

Well in: Garcia (cracking contribution), FSP (lively and composed), Finnan (what a difference a year makes).

Anyone notice Nunez's moment of Ronaldinhoness before passing to Stevie for the first goal? He dragged it with the outside of his foot then he took it the other way before anyone could get to him.

We played a very poor side today but hey, we made them look even poorer.

Cracking result and a clean sheet which is very important as it helps the confidence. We need to do exactly the same against Southhampton and then there is Chelsea! We are showing glimpses of the future in games like this, we need to carry this mentality on to every other game. We can beat anyone if we believe.

Merry Christmas!!!  ;D ;D

Special mention to Nunez and Garcia who both get their fair share of slagging off. Nunez looked a bit more pacey today and his crossing was really good + what he done for the first goal was outstanding. Garcia was full of tricks that come off and showed good passing and awesome movement.

Well played.

Great game from the reds today.

Alonso makes his passing look like kids stuff.
Garcia was lively when he came on.
Riise. Superb. Stunning strikes to kill them.
Pongo shows he can score with a brilliantly taken goal.
Gerrard's goal was intelligent.

Overall all the lads deserve a pat tonight. But Benitez must be the man. We would have struggle against 10 man a year ago. But tonight we look as if we gonna hammer them for 10.

And many thanx Contra.

I was happy with Nunez's performance. He's getting fitter every week and showed some good pace tonight. Crossing was good but he still needs to challence defenders more. He's got technique and pace to go past defenders but what he needs more is self confidence.

Garcia and Alonso were really good when they came on. Looks like Rafa has finally realised what is Sinama's best position! He was really good tonight!

Well done lads!  :)

Good preparation for Soton on Tuesday- Nunez with the whole 90 under his belt, and Xabi/Luis/Stevie/Milan rested a bit too  ;D
