....ok..well I haven't actually got the sale agreed, but I have a mortgage in principle for a New Build house!

So I will have a house. So excited.

Damn good feeling buying your first house!

Youre best bet is to offer them a tenancy wth an exit agreement for both parties ~~when~~ if the arrangement is found to be unsuitable. That way ~~when~~ if you found the arrangement to be not to your liking you can escape from the contract. Failing that a short term trial period (I find the optimium length of this to be about 6 hours) can be a good solution.

I think that statutory law sates that when over 20 units of alcohol have been consumed by either party then the agreement becomes nul and void!

Have you an example of this type of contract? And if so, will I require some uninterrupted time alone to go through the paperwork whilst enjoying a beer jug or two?

If you have uninterrupted time alone then it is impossible to engage in one of these contracts. The ones to look out for is when not only are they looking to purchase a property, but hwen they like the idea of buying a small property that they want to cultivate and develop.

Happy negotiating. My only advice would be not to take on too much of a project. Although having a bit of work to do can add value to the deal, you dont want to end up with a complete bombsite on your hands.

Update: Mortgage offer to be ammended for the increased figure tomorrow...but no the IFA is off tomorrow, so another days waiting! FUCK FUCK FUCK!

Offer will officially go in on wednesday, which will be accepted, subject to the lenders allowing me the extra £6 grand!
