I was outside the Pump House at 0920 to 0940 then went to the start.

Must have been there are the same time, mate - what were you wearing?  I was stood there with the other half from 9.30 til 9.45 or so and then went down to the start as it was starting to get busy over there.  There were quite a few people stood around near the Pumphouse and did ask a couple of people who were standing around on their own waiting if they were from RAWK, but just got funny looks   ;D

Still, glad you both finished and in good times as well.  Well done.  Think Kev and Tom did the half marathon in about an hour and 45mins and smartiefiend did the 10k in 55mins or so.  Was hard to tell with it taking so long to get through the start and all that, so will have to wait for the times to be published to find out for sure.

Well done again.

just had a brain-wave  :o :o

i must of done it in less than 59 mins

i went over the start line a few minutes or so after the bang went off, so that time i saw above me before i started to sprint would of been the time of when the first few went over the start line!!

how long before the times are confirmed  ??? am dead excited now!!

Elli, will email you soon  :)

Well done lads!

I think it's a couple of weeks or so when they send you the results book with everyone's time. It said somewhere (perhaps with the chip) that they'll put the times online on the site, or in conjunction with the Echo?

As was said, the spectators and the other runners spur you on. Kev began to have second thoughts when he saw the M62 signs to Manchester and it looked like they were going onto the motorway! There was a bloke behind him who said to the crowd "Have you counted how many have gone past already.....I want to know what position I'm in!" much to everyone's amusement. Kev was thinking 'ah you can count on good old Scouse humour' when shortly after the bloke said exactly the same thing, then a bit further on the same yet again- by which time Kev'd had enough of the cackling and decided to push on and leave the comedian behind (miserable bastard)!

It’ll take a few weeks to get the money together and grab more people we haven’t seen to dig deep, which is within the unwritten rules…it’s never too late to donate!

Can someone do us a big favour and look up Kev's time, as I can't access the list (downloaded it but as I'm digitally-challenged...). It's Kevin Hampson in the half-marathon, #0360, around 1hr45mins. Please, he's dying to know!

From the Post/ic.liverpool:

MORE than 7,000 runners crossed the finish line of Liverpool's biggest road race yesterday.

From trained athletes to first timers, the elation was apparent on the faces of each as they made it round the course to be greeted by cheers from the crowd.

The event, a combination of the Liverpool International Half Marathon and Liverpool council 10k, is one of the country's top races and attracted athletes from around the world.

Only just found out an old mate of mine also ran the 10k, he came 14th in a time of 00:35:07, which is pretty good I think.  He's a Red too, if only I'd known  ::)
As a young man Cameron looked out on the social carnage of pit closures and mass unemployment, looked at Margaret Thatcher's government and thought, these are my people. When all the debating is done, that is really all I need to know.

No idea of my time.......  I think 1:58 odd was on the clock when I came in, but then I can't remember what time we got over the start line at.  "Forgot" to bring my "Champion-chip" - thought I'd keep it and see what's inside it :-)

A guy next to me as we were coming around from the park said 1:45 was on his own clock.

Didn't think the route was great though - hills, dodging cars in Woolton and all that, those stone-tarmac roads that kill your feet. The alternative being pavements covered in acorn shells.

Still, was a nice day out :-)

I Hour 59 mins and 19 secs.  Not bad after a night on the curry at a Gurkha party beforehand.  I spent a while in the portaloos before the race started though and got some dirty looks from the queue when I finished.
