Portugal and Italy will have a strong team but a couple of injuries could have a real impact. Spain have depth in every position. If Saul gets injured they still have Asensio, Suarez and Ceballos. If Gaya gets injured they have Grimaldo. If Sandro Ramirez gets injured they have Williams. Incredible quality in reserve and most of those players wouldn't look out of place in the senior team.

They look all right but there doesn't seem to be a great deal for them at the front or back. I'd put Germany ahead of them in terms of the first eleven.

They lost out in qualifying to macedonia by a point...

They also lost the second to last game against the Ukraine in the 92nd minute.
We already have shit in the country, and the game of Liverpool fills life with joy. Thanks

No idea why Rashford isn't playing in this. All nations have their best young players playing, even if they have played for the main team. Renato Sanches is playing for Portugal, who played quite a few games in last years senior Euros win. Donnarumma is playing for Italy, with Bernardschi and Rugani who have all played with the senior team. Germany have plenty of youth players that have been in their senior squads.

Englands senior players are Ward Prowse, Chambers and Redmond. Who came on as subs in the Germany game a few months back. Rashford has played 1 game for the u21s, doesn't set him up well for playing interntional tournament football in the future.

They used a few of the Monaco lads, Rabiot from PSG, Coman from Bayern, Laporte of Bilbao, Tolisso from Lyon and a few other names you'd know. Mbappe has never played for the u21s due to his rise through the Monaco ranks he's gone straight into the national team from the u19s.

Well, I actually went to the game in Skopje, and watched the return leg on TV, and the French fielded some very good players like Dembele, Lemar, Rabiot, Kimpembe, Tolisso and Haller. The Macedonian team is actually pretty good as a unit, with no famous players, but they've been playing together for years, and can definitely upset someone at the Championship in Poland.

Because Shitcoat threw a strop, not wanting Rashford to miss their pre-season, and the FA of course bowed & scraped.

Cheers for setting this up and for a cracking OP Sarge.

I'm curious to see how the English get on given the Under-20's success this summer already.  Looking forward to watching Baker in midfield, he's done well on loan at Holland and should be looking at a permanent move away from Chelsea, think he would be of interest to a few clubs in the PL as well as the Championship.  Saw a fair bit of Mawson at Swansea and he really came on well once Paul Clement took over.  Chilwell impressed me in the games I saw him play for Leicester last season and I thought Holgate did really well at RB for Everton after Coleman got injured.

They've got a decent attack, a lot of pace and width and Abraham is a good finisher.

Such a typical Boothroyd team, the forwards are so isolated.

Penalty to Sweden (seemed a 50/50 call as he won the ball but caught the other lad in his follow through). Saved by Pickford, wasn't a good pen.

Agree wholeheartedly about Boothroyd. The F.A is like a time machine. And Boothroyd's tactics and game plans belong in the 80s (and that's being kind).
