Best thing about this game from tactical point of view is that Spurs will have no fucking idea how we are going to line-up or play on the day.

... while Spurs are probably the closest to the sort of opposition that he'd face in the Bundesliga.

I think we'll play a deeper counterattacking game for this one with Skrtel/Sakho to start in defence.

We've done well at that ground recently . Expect that to continue with a narrow win.

Spurs are tailor-made to be pressed as nobody in the league likes to pass the ball around as much as they do. They won`t be booting it long if we press them either. Whether our pressing will be orchestrated well enough after only a session or two a new manager will have with the whole group is a different matter.

I personally havent been too fond of the constant press attention the manager has been getting, albeit its understandable why its happened (big name, international break). Thus i am desperate for this game to come around quickly and for us to get started.

Think we can win but really i am relaxed now in seeing how we proceed forward for the rest of this season. Its all about using this season to develop under a new regime.

Just the 15 goals we've scored in the last 4 games against this lot. Just twat them.

Oh and don't give Eriksen any free kicks around the edge of the area.

Going for 1-2 couple for Sturridge

Looks like Mason and Son are out for them who aside from Eriksen have been their best players this season.

Having a couple days to think about the Spurs game, I reckon we will see an instant improvement from the slow, turgid stuff we've seen lately. I don't expect to win, but I reckon we'll look a lot more organized, even if the players only have a few days to train with Klopp and Buvac. The counter-press will be disjointed, but we only need it to work just enough to create two or three clear cut chances for Sturridge.

I reckon our back line and midfield will take to any good organizational scheme like a duck to water. A couple days of constant drills and they'll have an idea of where they are supposed to be and when they are supposed to be there in defense and in transition. No more of this unpredictable, organic build up play that leaves porous holes in midfield.

2-1 us.

Not an idea first 5 games for Klopp

Spurs - Away
Southampton - Home
Chelsea - Away
Crystal Palace - Home
City - Away

That is a horrible opening set of fixtures for Klopp

No, it's perfect. Have you not listened to what he's been saying.

No-one has a clue how we'll line up or how we will play.....least of all Spurs, which is a bonus I suppose.

This lack of clarity is playing havoc with my burning and uncontrollable desire to post a formation/line up in a pre-game thread.....cannot....resist....

I don't have a ticket but is anyone else planning on going to WHL for pre and post match activities? It's sure to be a brilliant atmosphere.

As for the team, I really haven't got a clue. My only opinion is that those who stayed behind at Melwood during the International - would they be more likely to feature given they have spent more time with the new manager?

As Killer Heels said, I'm relaxed going into this as it feels like we are in safe hands. A win would be a fantastic start for this run we have coming up and really cement that feeling that things will turn around.

Let's focus on the important bits, will Klopp be wearing a trackie and a red cap or do you reckon he'll opt for a suit this time?
One day, people will hopefully look back and say "I was there son. I was there the year that Spurs won nothing again."

I have no clue what the formation's going to be or who's going to play. I think if there are going to be any surprising visible changes in this first match, it'll probably an unexpected player starting - maybe even a youngster who's impressed Klopp so far.

As has been touched on already, the main difference is going to be in our attitude. Our last, I dunno, 15 PL matches have been absolutely dire to watch because the players clearly gave no shits about their performances 85% of the time. I can't see that happening on Saturday.

Predictions:
- 2-2 draw
- Coutinho scores
- Can plays well but nearly gets sent off
- Sakho dominates

I find it very hard to guess who'll line up, and how exactly we'll play. If I were to make a guess, I'd go with -

Mignolet

Clyne Skrtel/Gomez/ Sakho Moreno

Lucas Can

Milner Lallana/Firmino Coutinho

Sturridge

But there could be a few variations in there plus I'm not sure on Firmino's injury status.

Looks like Mason and Son are out for them who aside from Eriksen have been their best players this season.

Yeah you can add Dier to that list I think he reached his 5th yellow for the season against Swansea and he's been fantastic for them as well.  Eriksen is the key though, if we stop him they'll struggle with any sort of creativity.

I really wish we had someone in midfield who could boss. It would have been awesome because one controller/playmaker can turn this team around. A xabi alonso in this side and things could be different tomorrow.

How often does Mignolet concede goals from FK's though? Off the top of my head I can only think of the Ozil one in the 4-1 loss in March.

The two FK's Eriksen scored at Swansea could have been dealt with better by Fabianski, especially the first one were he moves away from his side, and he did the same when Oscar scored on opening day too. Mignolet tends to track free kicks really well though, like Charlie Adams curler to the far post against Stoke on opening day. As such I don't think it needs to be as big a worry as people are makin it out to be.

0 - 114; Sturridge x 52, Coutinho x 39, Milner x 11, Lucas x 7, Moreno x 3, Can x 2.

That's not realistic, Lucas hasn't scored in ages.

Unlikely. Most of those who could possibly be used are out on loan. Rossiter, Branagan, Gomez are still the most likely youngsters to play.

Hard to say much about how we'll line up for this one, shooting in the dark, really. We should be up for it, though, against a Spurs side that are definitely beatable, they've only won three so far this season.
