You're taking Arsenal and the two Manchester clubs out so we go top?

I've always like the APLT before this, but I've just looked at the table and done the maths. If we shift up a gear massively and get to 2 ppg (whilst currently being at 1.5ish), that gets us to 69 points for the season. I am thinking that going from one and a half to 2 points average is quite a shift, with our very mixed striker form. It would take the obtaining of a star in the January window to lift us that significantly as things stand.

United down to -9, so as it stands we're ahead of them for the first time since GW6 when we drew with Norwich.

By mentioning the law of mockers, aren't you putting the mockers on the mockers. Double negative?

Have I just ruined that by putting the mockers on your mockers of the mockers?

Would it fix the problem if I inform you that United are ahead of us now? Surely by your logic that must mean that the mockers are on them now  :wave

That's reverse mockers.  You can't mention reverse mockers until the event expires or it renders them void and puts the mockers back on us.

Sigh.

Nah, still can't see Vardy keeping this form up, and if Mahrez gets an injury for a few weeks I think they can drop right off

-5 according to the table above. I keep thinking this time they'll lose then they win again. Sky said no team has had this many points since the Premier League began (I know!) and finished outside the top 4. One thing is for certain, our game on Boxing Day is becoming more and more important as the weeks go by.

Apologies misread the table , suppose my point still stands about swooping them with Chelsea , as for the points situation there seems a lot of teams a lot closer to the top four than before , also Leicester are unknown quantity for squad depth whereas nearly all the teams previously in champions league had big squads . But good luck to them very refreshing the league now ...a throwback to the early 70s

Cheers for the update Prof.

Do we think this is the nail in the coffin for Chelsea then?

Im looking at this thinking we have such a good chance of 4th. If we can somehow find some consistency then we'll have a chance. Continued results like West Brom and Newcastle and we can forget it.

We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

Those results are still hard to take. Win them both and we stake our claim as genuine title contenders. Opportunities missed.

On the plus side our main contenders for 3rd/4th place, United and Spurs also took one point from their last two games. We're right in the mix for a top four finish as the APLT shows but we could really do with putting a run of wins together very soon. I've got a feeling that run is coming.

Klopp out! ;)

But really, Leicester have been very near title winning form since April. 57 points from their last 25 games = 2.28ppg ~ 86-87 points over a full season. If I were a betting man I might actually put a few quid on them getting one of those top 4 spots.

You make out like it's a sneaky outside bet! In my mind, Leicester are now nailed on for top 4!!

As pants-wettingly funny as last night was, it wasn't ideal for us. I admire Klopp's assertion that he wont buy in Jan and wants to work with the current team but I think it will be hard for us to catch top 4 with the squad as it is. In real-terms we are 11 points off Leicester. That's a lot!!

I do however fully believe he'll have us in amongst it next season.

Bloody Leicester in the Champions League!  ::)

If Leicester had the injuries to key players we've had this year, we wouldn't even be talking about them.

Things change very quickly.

West Ham would probably be top 4 right now if they didn't lose Payet.

Na, because they players won't make it through the season on this level, there is not enough in this squad for the title or even top 4. Forget Leicester..
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

If it's not us I'd be very happy for Leicester to have it, apart from how insufferable Gary Linaker will be.
