Moving swiftly on we have Spurs visiting Anfield in a little over 48 hours time.

Injuries:

Physio room have Lucas, Lallana, Jones, and Flanagan as doubts with no return dates for their injuries. Tottenham have a fully fit squad to choose from.

Stats:

We have won 61% of the meeting vs Spurs at Anfield, with Spurs only winning 8 times in 73 attempts.

In our last 3 games against them we have scored 12 goals without reply and have won the last four meetings in a row.

Coverage:

Live on BT Sport.

Questions:

Will Sturridge start after making 3 sub appearances?
How do we accommodate a (possibly) missing Lucas?
Ibe to keep his place in the team?

Massive game.  Let's batter these inbreds.....

Actually they seem to be progressing quite well this season...  Seem to be quite consistent.  Long may it cease.

Lose and top 4 is gone, draw and it's going to be incredibly difficult to make it.

I know it's become a cliche now, but it's must win

Along with Man United, possibly the most annoying team in the league.

How many points has Eriksen alone earned them? Or how many have they earned from losing/drawing positions in the last ten minutes?

Spurs are starting to settle now under their new manager and look a fit, hard working side with a few genuine game winners.

We have shown great promise in the last couple of months after learning to live without Suarez and Sturridge to some extent.

I expect the game will be open, Spurs will target our weak spots at the back and we will expose theirs, the winner will be the side that takes their chances. We really need this victory.

I wonder if Brendan will be tempted to start Sturridge for this and would it be a wise thing to do?

If PoP is about, perhaps he could answer the 2nd part of my question for me.

Sturridge has been brought back slowly enough now ... time for him to start. And time for Sterling to start looking up and passing rather than attempting unlikely shots on goal

It's got to happen sooner or later.  But he's clearly still very rusty.

I think I would stat him and play him I front of sterling and Markovic.

I think they'll cone down to earth with a bump on Tuesday. We could really do with Sturridge starting, but I'm not sure he is ready? does anyone gave the latest on Lucas and Phil?

I think Markovic can do a job in Coutinho's position if the latter is unavailable for the match. Or perhaps reward Ibe's performance by starting him further upfront in that position, and letting Markovic return to right wingback.

Arsenal and Man Utd are at home to relegation threatened clubs. Southampton at home to West Ham. Can't see them not winning

A win keeps pace with them and draws closer to one of our rivals. Anything else and we will likely fall away. Maybe Rodgers had this in mind when he made the subs against Everton. A draw against Everton after today's results is not the end of the world. Anything less than a win and our top 4 challenge becomes precarious

Can Skrtel Sakho

Ibe Allen Henderson Markovic

Coutinho(Markovic) Sterling
Sturridge

If Phil is out injured, then we really need Danny starting ideally. I'd prefer Ibe in attacking mid and Markovic at RWB rather than the other way round personally.

This game won't decide our top 4 chances imo. We will know for sure around match day 28-29 hopefully we hang in there until then and don't have too many points to make up for, 4-6points from top 4.

Big game this, one of many six pointers coming up. Brendan might of settled for a point in the derby and rested Sterling and Coutinho, hope there fresh anyhow. I would start Sturridge. Team would be:

                            Mignolet
               Can        Skrtel       Sakho

  Markovic     Henderson     Allen       Moreno

                 Sterling       Coutinho
                          Sturridge

Bench : Ward, Lovren, Johnson, Ibe, Gerrard, Balotelli, Borini.

Plenty of ways to change the game if need be. Lovren could come on, push can into the middle. Could bring Johnson on and go to a back four etc

I hope their win against Arsenal breeds enough over confidence for them to come to Anfield and have a go at us, because we struggle against teams who sit deep.

The difference is this time we`ll have Sturridge from 1st minute so we`ll have to see about that.

My first game at Anfield. Coming from Austria with my friend!

Really hope to see Gerrard feature this one, at least a few minutes.

To the game. Well, Spurs are in a really good form, but we are playing at home and if we can
build up our game and press them early i think we will win this.

My Prediction: 2-1 (Sturridge, Henderson; Kane)

Midfield should be Can & Henderson although this means that playing lovern at cb facing an inform striker is not good.

So who plays centre mid in this system? Gerrard? Can with Lovren centre half? No, that will be the team above if Sturridge is fit enough. Ibe hasn't done anything wrong but Markovic is a better player.

We'll probably be 8 points off 4th with 13 games left and going to chelsea away still. A loss here loses any realistic hope of 4th

Let's hope it doesn't come to that

I think the implications of losing will be obvious now itself. A loss will see us likely go some 8-9 points from the top 4 depending on how other games go. Both Man U and Arsenal are playing bottom teams at home. We need to win just to stay in touch with those teams. Quite intriguing few weeks ahead. We need to just keep collecting points and see where we are towards the last few rounds. It's good that we have all the best teams to play yet because our fate is still largely in our hands.

Their fullbacks are weak, I'd like to see us attack Danny Rose as he's turbogash as they like to say on GoT.

Presume Allen in for Lucas, Gerrard benched for Sturridge with Sterling in Stevie's spot, maybe Markovic to return, Ibe to make an impact from the bench.

I don't know to take who's place or in what position, but I feel Ibe has to start, not only to reward his display against the bitters, but also because he's a trump card in terms of how unknown he is to the rest of the league (similar to how Sterling was in the second half of last season). His directness, raw pace and rocket of a shot adds a fresh dimension to our attack.

Actually I like this team.

Can maybe deserves a chance in midfield.

However, is it worth disrupting what has been such an effective defensive trio?

Hang on!  I've just seen Balotelli there! Brave choice.  I might play him away at Beşiktaş.
