Marquee signings are all well and good but i'd sooner we bought young rising stars with resale value than old ones past their prime. Some great players available from Dutch, French & German leagues ... Gaston Pereiro (PSV), Riechedly Bazoer (Ajax), Jean Seri (Nice), Dembele (Dortmund), Ghezzel (Lyon), Sidibe (Lille) and a host of others. Much better investments. Spend it wisely!

I’m going to assume we add 5 players to our squad over the summer with an average wage bill of £120,000 per week per player. That adds £31 million a year to our wage bill.

To be fair I think one of the reasons they have brought Koeman there is the fact he will bring in 'less than marquee' signings (as per Southampton) and bring them on. The echo is in great danger of creating some delusional myth which will bring wrath to Woodison if the signings are quieter and it doesn't work out (hopefully, expectantly)

Koeman's (Soutnampton) signings, difficult to disentangle whether these were club scoutings or Ron but you might suggest the Dutch one's were Ron's and the earlier one's were probably scouted by the club and then agreed. No marquee's (except Pelle) in those although some good one's, I like Tadic.

Liverpool's new stand will increase revenue by somewhere between £20M-£30M; but that's because Liverpool ticket sales are always high and sold at a much greater cost. Even if Everton doubled ticket sales in a new stadium (unlikely, they struggle to fill their current capacity) they could not justify spending £300m+; it would take  two decades to even break even. They would impoverish themselves for 20 years for the kind of money any team in the PL would generate from finishing in Europa spots consistently. And that's a best case scenario.

They should be looking to renovate or build on the cheap. Or (more pertinently) improve commercial operations and get funds from that. Commercial income was pitiful last year.
