Does that clown Noz work for Warrior or New Balance?

I mean did he design that home NB kit?

So far away :(

No use counting down the days ... good chance they will renew their deal and we'll be subjected to more of their dross

:o :o :o :o

Last few adidas kits have been head and shoulders over the muck that Warrior have given us.

Opinions and all that I guess ... but I hated those last adidas kits, it made the players look like their shoulders were 10x bigger than the rest of their bodies

Our kits are always going to to be underwhelming with that bloody Standard Chartered logo in the middle. Calsberg is fizzy piss but looked great on our shirt, only really topped by Arsenal's brief Sega 'Dreamcast' sponsor.

That last Adidas home kit was atrocious imo, whereas the first home Warrior did was a thing of beauty.

I haven't liked any of the kits since Carlsberg.  The standard chartered logo is crap.  Warrior designs are crap.  It's all crap.

Yeah to be fair the sponsor doesn't help. Carlsberg was ideal.

The last adidas home kit was definitely the worst home kit I can remember. It was just so shite and depressing. The 2009 one was great though.

The first two Warrior home kits have been the best we've had in a long time. Not so keen on this year's.

Mind you, I didn't really like our kits in 2012, 2005 and 2006 and 2003 and we won trophies in them...perhaps it's our year!

Not bought a Liverpool shirt since Kenny came back in 2011 and don't think I'd buy another. I feel sorry for parents that have to by them for kids. The price of them these days, you could get a decent pair of trainers.

Think this about sums it up. Two really nice home kits, then this year's not great. Liked the first two adidas home kits but the last one was pretty poor. Maybe it's a pattern - two good then one rubbish? ;D

Warrior away kits have been a really odd bunch. If you look at the designs next to each other on http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Liverpool/Liverpool-change-kits.html they really do stand out as odd/experimental/zany/colourful. I quite liked the 2012-2013 away and the purple 3rd from that season though I know they weren't to all tastes. This season's 3rd kit is quite nice but I do wish it was a little simpler.

Yeah, as people often say, if you win something in it then the kit suddenly looks a lot nicer! (2012 aside obviously, that's still rank :P)

I agree with the non-rating of the last Adidas kit.

It was the fabrication. I'm not an advocate of a seam at the shoulder, which is what it had.

Without going all Gok Wan, I prefer the arm and shoulder constructed out of one piece of fabric. The 2008-10 shirt that people have mentioned had this kind of construction. Without wanting to disqualify myself from the discussion, it's one of only two LFC shirts I've ever owned.

The seam-at-the-shoulder style shirt can look particularly bad on folk depending on what their relative shoulder and torso sizes are. It gets worse the more form hugging the shirt is. I'd say that's one reason the last Adidas kit was less popular than previous shirts with the same style of fabrication; shirts are more closely fitted at the moment. In general it gives a bit of an 80's 'shoulder pad' appearance.

The first two warrior home kits were phenomenal. The first one of those was arguably the best one we've had in quite a long time. I hope next year's one will look much better worn than it does in the picture, cause honestly it looks a bit shocking in that picture.

It's basically true... but it's not the whole story.

There'll be different design briefs and a different advertising strategy... brand core values and target customers and all that shite.

Warrior targeted young teens with semen-caked gym socks, as far as I can make out. New Balance believe that women have souls. It'll be different.

There will certainly be some crossover in the team, as there will be some within Warrior who have the specific football knowledge with regards to the technical aspects of the kit design (and boots, and whatever else NB decide to bring over from Warrior) - but NB will of course have their own designers too who are well versed in designing to their core values as you point out.

Was more the matter of factness that he made out he knows it's all the same that pushed me to ask if he knew something we didn't.

Been thinking about these kits and I was wondering how many "leaked" kits end up being our actual kits?

Here's one from Feb 2014:

http://www.footballshirtculture.com/14/15-Kits/liverpool-2014-15-warrior-home-football-kit-design-leaked.html

for 13/14 leaked here:

http://www.liveforfootballshirts.com/new-liverpool-1314-away-shirt-leaked/

and 12/13

http://www.kopsource.com/new-201213-liverpool-home-kit-leaked/

They are all pretty much on the money so think that's what we will end up with

I know that Warrior are owned by New Balance, doesn't mean they're the exact same company, with the exact same people producing the kit. If it was exactly the same, why change? They're going down a different route (NB) and have halted Warrior. They'll make changes, do things differently. I just hope it'll be an improvement, so far it doesn't look like it.

That's not true at all. Warrior are based in Michigan and New Balance are in Boston. That's over 700 miles away. They are owned by New balance but are a completely different company. I doubt they have any of the same design team or even manufacture in the same plants. New Balance produces clothing and shoes in the US, China, Vietnam and even (shoes) in the UK(!). Warrior uses plants all over Asia as well.

I work for a company owned by another that's thousands of miles away and our only connection is at board level. I suspect that is similar with Warrior but I am only assuming. Someone else here may know the dynamic better.

As I've understood it, Warrior Football were based in Manchester. New Balance are using largely the same team, drawing on the genius that gave us tattoos on a football kit, odd-coloured socks and 'glory holes'.

Hey, I just remembered why Warrior are so utterly fucking shit. Hm.

These pictures taken on a phone at a trade show somewhere in the US or the Far East never showcase the new kit at its best. I suspect this shirt will look pretty good when seen on a player in a stadium. The patterns on the material never really show up when you see the kit from a distance.
