Young Boys 1-2 Liverpool:Half time....
« on: September 15, 2012, 08:09:43 pm »
Onwards and upwards. Good performance against Sunderland, yes we should have won, yes we need to take our chances but let's take the positives and move onto this match. Will be tough, travelling to Switzerland and these did well against Spurs in the CL a few years back.

Got Utd a few days after, be arsed playing a full strength team, I'm all for taking the Europa League seriously but Utd at home is different circumstances all together.

Reina
Kelly Carragher Coates Robinson
Henderson Shelvey
Downing Cole Assaidi
Ngoo*

Possibly Borini as I wouldn't personally play him against Utd but I think Rodgers will.

Think Downing, Enrique and Sahin all will start.
Coates and Carra at CB.
Would love if Suso gets a bit of playing time later on in the 2nd half.
Will Assaidi start?
There'll be glory round the fields of Anfield Road.

Personally can't wait for this to see if any of the youngsters get a game. Suso, Robinson, Morgan/Ngoo/Yesil/Pacheco could all be involved. Expect Sahin and Assaidi to get some more minutes too. Coates too actually, he needs more game time.

As much as I want us to do well in the EL we have to put out a second string side, especially with playing utd at the weekend, plus its a great learning experience for the younger lads and if we don't get the desired result we are still very much In contention after just one game, with that being said I'd play...

Reina
Kelly
Coates
Carragher
Robinson
Sahin
Shelvey
Henderson
Assaidi
Suso
Borini

Borini central, suso right, assaidi left.

We aren't going to win the league, we could win the UEFA Cup, so I'd rather we played a full strength team in this game.  Plus I've spent about Ł500 attending this game.

Yep, but I highly doubt we'll see Suso start - probably Downing.

Would be good to see Yesil or Morgan coming off the bench.

Magnificent opportunity at never ending puns this game as we have seen already

Like most suggesting, send the youngsters over there with the Mancs at the weekend, which is a great opportunity to put the start behind us in one game.

We have masses of talent under first team level, time to let them show what they are capable of (or not as the case may be)
A win for the Liverpool country

I wouldn't play anybody from the eleven that will start against United. Play the squad players and academy lads. Personally i'd love Ngoo to be given a chance up front rather than Morgan or Yesil.

The way i'd approach the EL is to play the reserves in the away matches and hope to pick up some points and stronger teams in the home games to hopefully get us through.
