Telling that no bigger clubs (no disrespect to the saints) came in for him. Always seemed like his agent was the one linking him to clubs rather than any genuine interest.

My guess is that we were interested as a backup if we didn't sign Allen. Of course Allen is bound to be the first choice to Rogers and it was done.

SSN are saying that Bologna have accepted the £11million offer so he hasn't signed yet. For 11million I bet other clubs put in an offer.

Theres also the small matter of the guaranteed millions, even if they get relegated, just for being in the prem. Prize money + TV money (each club got around £32 million last season) + 4 parachute payments totalling £48 million.

As others have said, all paper talk and agent bluster. Mind you, anyone who believes transfer stuff in the press needs to have a word with themselves.

he is a effin ace player and very young.he do have improved our first team and for 11 million is a bargain for Southampton.
very surprised by the lad's decision though.i am sure other sides would have been interested but it seems money is the motivation here.

Obviously a shock signing for the league but what a great coup for Southampton if it comes off. We can argue whether or not he was good enough for us, but if he settles well, this could be a big boost in Southampton's survival hopes. Fair dues.

It's a very strange move, and price considering his agent said Spurs offered more than this.

Seems his agent has used us and Spurs to try and flush a deal out but it didn't happen. And now is left with Southampton as the best offer!

Gonna be interesting to see what happens next summer when they go straight back down.

Facts are wrong. Spurs were definitely in for him and he rejected them for money purely.
