What are you on about?

He's been the heart and soul of the first half. Laying his body down on the line, for his country. Placing every single pass 100% to perfection. And beat every man in the tackle.

He's a national hero I tell you. Can't believe you disagree

Scotty Parker's playing?
One day people will realize just how brave Scott Parker is.

The fake adverts are back.  It's weird, when they go tight on a player they've gone, on the long shots the CGI ads are back.

I hadn't noticed that - quite clever really! They've got my attention more than the game now

It's not hard to get distracted now Andy's gone off.  I'm just watching it for agricultural tackles on our rivals now.

Holy shit. Brilliant strike by Defoe.

Edit: Looks better in realtime. Buffon should've probably got that.

Keeper's fault.
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. If we can score a goal quickly we push on from there.""

I always did want Defoe to play at the euros.
I know what you mean. I really wish the Madrid born former Real Vallodolid, Osasuna, Tenerife, Extremadura, Valencia and Inter Milan manager stayed loyal and faithful to a foreign club that sacked him by never managing another club again. Burn him.

That's a good finish.

Keeper's got to be stronger though.

Great goal! Ryan Bertrand assist?! Fairly sure I saw Milner run 60 yards with the ball!

Did alright. Passers like Carrick are a better bet for Hodgson to achieve success then two more defensive minded players. If England have more control the midfield don't have to do quite so much work. So, no more defensive midfielders - they can't work if England are to put themselves together.

And I think Milner might be pretty big for Man City this season. A far better player then Johnson, always has been. Defoe is a sharp edge to England, and he should start up front ideally - but Carroll is another thing altogether - if we were to get two more aggressive winger then I feel he could flourish.

Not going to spend all night talking about it - but the change in outlook was nice, even if the 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 isn't going to change.

How was Andy?

Only played the 1st half. A bit poor, mainly not his fault tho. Just a few long, overhit balls lumped forward (gotta love Uncle Roy) while he was begging his teammates to play the ball down to his feet.

How was Andy?

No real service to him so couldn't make much of an impact. He would either be fed the odd poor long ball or watch as we played a passing move only to cross it into areas he could only get to if he could teleport.  Defoe came on and bar one cross, had a similar problem with not being given the ball.

Was alright last night, nice for Ruddy to make some good saves on his debut and we won so yay. At times we looked decent on the ball, some nice passing passages but without much of an actual threat. Other times it was ye olde England, wild balls up to the front man and under siege due to lack of possession. Cahill looks very rusty but Destro looked lively, Young and Adam Johnson were very frustrating.

Good positive game for England before the World Cup Qualifiers. Thought we did very well. Is it now 7 games unbeaten for Roy? Fair play, just beaten the Euro Finalists.
Roll on the Qualifiers.

I stand by that comment. Just checked and he has 16 in 49 for England which isn't too bad at all but I was asking why he's still
an England player when he only made 11 starts for Spurs last season and 16 the season before that. He has a total of 36 league goals for Spurs since the 08/09 season, thought he'd scored a lot more to be honest.

It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Not a great deal of quality strikers and he has played well when called upon by England in recent years so when an injury crises hits, he tends to be called up. That's my reading of it anyway
