Who gives a fuck?

Euro aways are spent getting pissed, finding someone selling gear and hopefully watching us win. I couldn't give a fuck if they wave, I'm not at the match to be acknowledged by the players. It's nice when they come over and clap, but it's not mandatory or expected. It'd mean fuck all then for a start.

I`ve heard a few people say this about Poynton but my one experience of him was a good one. A few years ago I got arrested in the ground. I had my mates season ticket, got pissed before a match and went into the ground with a can of larger in my pocket to save queing up at half time.

A bizzie spotted the bulge in my pocket  ;D and arrested me for having a weapon  ;D  in a sporting stadium. I was handcuffed and taken to cells under the Annie Rd.

The bizzies confiscated the season ticket, said they were going to advise the club to ban my mate from having a season ticket as it was classed as ticket touting even though no money changed hands. They also threatend me with a football banning order.

The end result was after a sob story letter sent from me to Poyton he rang me up laughing about the letter. He told me he could see the police had gone too far with this, told me to come to the ground to pick the ticket up. When I met him he told me if I ever had trouble in the ground again to give his name in and he would come down and sort things out.

So for me I can only say good words about Poynton.

ah but does he follow you on twitter lar.

funny you mention the cells , i just put a post in the ask thread about them.

Jen Chang.....he had a sly dig at reina on twitter once, I pulled him up on it, only for him to follow me back just so he could fire abuse at me through dm's and call me pathetic, then he blocked me so I couldn't respond....but I'm pathetic...

So the players didn't come over and wave, it was wrong. They should be told to do it after every game, home and away, win or lose. The end.

Do we really need a 5 page thread about it?

When faced with moaning blerts, he slapped them down. No-one cares. Imagine you go over to the fans as you've heard there may be a problem and you want to help, when you get there some bad teds are crying Henderson never waved. Embarrassing.

Better ways of "slapping them down" than saying "you didn't have to come". It's typical of the man, he's a c*nt.

It's madness. You go on euro always for a laugh, for the camaraderie, and to support he team. If the players come over and acknowtledge that support at the final whistle or in the wrm down then it's nice. If they don't then no big deal. Time to adjourn to the bar.

I cannot believe that
a) people are crying over this
b) that official complaints were made
c) that the manager has been coerced to writing a letter in response
d) that people are trying to link this to a hearts & minds jolly to the US
e) that Jen Chang has been stupid enough to get drawn into it.

Madness from start to finish.

Top post.

Seems like an old school fella. Perfectly fine with it if the lads had tried to chin him for that comment (if it indeed transpired that way) and offered to buy him a drink later. As we're in 2012, that probably won't work.

no they shouldn't.
they should do it if they want to do it, and if they don't it's no big deal.

as someone said already... if it becomes compulsory, it becomes meaningless.
it should be impromptu, of the moment and genuine.

Well, some people felt let down and that's their choice. My only away game (against Atletico during the volcano week when most of the support had to travel with train or car to Spain) I remember Carragher and a couple of others applauding during warm down. That was a nice gesture but at the end of the day it's the commitment on the pitch that matters.

Still think it's a nice gesture from Brendan to type that letter. He's an honest guy it seems and it seems he really feels for the fans and the club which is a great thing.

The only silly thing here is that this (non-)issue puts some fans in different camps. We, as fans, need to stand by the club and show our support, not resort to petty argument.

to be honest I was more saying it to appease those who are moaning as I really couldn't care if they clapped me after the game or not. Hopefully they thanked me by putting in a good performance.

'kin' hell. There are going to be a lot of letters this year.

;D

Think they'll copy-paste. Efficiency.

Jen Chang is a weird fucker. Blocked a lot of fans on twitter (including myself, even though I've never tweeted him/heard of him before we hired him).

Anyway, it's a shame the players couldn't clap, but this is a bit of an overreaction.

Are you sure? From what I remember, his account became private after he got the DoC job. You need to request before becoming a follower

Last time I went to a euro away LFC had 22 players out maybe even more, no wonder we won 3-1. I think I left my jaw somewhere in Holland, just waiting to play there again then I can go and retrieve it. Oh the players did a massive warm down and clapped us whilst we were locked in, fucking sound themplayers

Liverpool FC will eat itself

It already has mate, I have no clue what it has become that brilliant exciting feeling you used to get about LFC has gone we have become just a regular club now.  Not a good feeling to have it died the minute Hicks & Gillett took over and I dont think that feel good factor will ever come back sadly.

I think we've kicked this around enough, we're just going around in circles now so I'll lock it unless anything new comes up.
