Altough Alan Hansen did play for Scotland I was gobsmacked when I found out that he only got 27 caps.

His problem was he was up against the Aberdeen pair of Alex McLeish and Willie Miller. As they were team mates at club level in what was then a good Aberdeen side, Scotland managers felt it unnecessary to split them up. It's still criminal though that Jockey only got 27 caps.

My pick would be Jimmy Case.

It's ironic that we are discussing some quality LFC players who never got international caps, yet Salif Diao captained Senegal in the World Cup, and Bernard Diomede actually got a World Cup winners medal!!

Roy Hodgson's Konchesky has more caps than Casey.

A few years ago I took my family to Anfield for a Mothers Day Lunch in one of the Centenary Stand Suites. Alan Kennedy and David Johnson were there as after dinner speakers. I always remember Alan saying that he and Kenny Sansom won 90 caps between them...
They also won 2 European Cups and 4 league titles between them, but Alan would be too modest to mention that. More likely to say they've got 2 Crystal Palace player of the year awards...
"You just have to give them credit for not throwing in the towel" - Gennaro Gattuso, May, 2005

And then we'll get 4th as well and everyone in the whole world can do one.
