I've never really spoke about Aquilani. I just dont see what we've got to lose by keeping him. If he's unhappy about staying tough break kid, Luca Modric was forced to stay at Spurs last season, didnt do them any harm.

Financially it's a no brainer to keep him.
Style wise as well, Brendans style is made for him.
But like many have said it depends whether his hearts in it.

True but I would like and hope that Brendan at least tries him out and I think he will judge him from what he sees. Always had the impression that people wouldnt give him a proper chance and loan him out straight away (at least the last two season). Would love us to give him a go until at least Christmas and then take it from there.

Think he could fit in really well with Gerrard and Lucas, the two power horses, in the midfield. And I agree with Brentie.

Fair comment, but at the end of the day he's still a Lfc player. Lets not ignore the fact that the club have treated him with very little respect.
When he has come back for pre season, he's shown whats in his locker, but time an again he's been shown the door.
Under this regime, I for one, hope that someone in the club actually shows a little faith in him, and it might just turn his thinking.
He could be good for LFC.                 YNWA

Brendan's style might be made for him when we have the ball. It's a different story when you're part of a 3 man midfield and trying to get the ball back.

Pardew has a real brass neck to come out with shit like that..

It really is astonishing how low some managers will go to get a deal on the cheap..
Would be surprised if Mike Cashley asked him to give the interview and set us ultimatum.

As much as i cant see AC fitting into the whole BR style. Its becoming such a joke that i hope
we just keep the kid and back him up.

In one

And, if they dpn't

No way should Newcastle be allowed to publicly humiliate us by

a) Overvaluing on sale
b) Undervaluing on purchase and talking the price down in public
c) Taking a decent player of us when they are competing against us

On so many levels I hope we don't sell to them and, if possible stay with us and be success, especially when we re-visit the fat belly stadium

True enough, but I've never seen him really press the ball, he's played that little, and like most on here are eulogising about his performance against Portsmouth.
This might be the reason he's not been snapped up perhaps, his innability to work well without the ball?

Alan Pardew can fucking do one. Mouthy c*nt. I hope the red necked fucker gets found out for the long ball, rent a quote, Harry redknapp mk2, one hit wonder, fucking shite manager that he really is.

Oh. And my understanding from someone pretty close to Carroll is that he doesn't want to go back. No idea what the lads on TAW have said about it, but it's a pretty good source. Hope he proves them all wrong with us next season.

Maybe we have something to gain by selling him? Just talking off the top of my head here, but what if some Italian club is interested in taking him as part payment for someone we want/need more? Extreme example (I doubt if we'd really be in for him): we plonk £18m from Andy Carroll's sale down on a Fiorentina table and sit Alberto up prettily next to it, and ask very nicely for Stevan Jovetic.

I think the only Italian clubs who can afford his wages are the clubs who have already had a chance to buy the lad, so I wouldn't count on him as part of any exchange (unless he'd be willing to significantly restructure his wage packet).

His track record would indicate otherwise.

All the players he's bought have been very clearly talented players that would have been at bigger clubs had it not been for different issues. Cabaye was the playmaker for the French league champions with a low release clause; Cisse scored hatfulls of goals for a German team hovering above the relegation zone and he was very frequently linked with us and I can remember him saying it would be his dream to sign for LFC; Santon young talented RB not wanted at Inter, still turned out average; Ba almost signed for loads of clubs before Newc, had great goalscoring record during his brief time at West Ham; Ben Arfa FM legend was great for Marseille but was renowned for being a spoilt prick.

Basically it's "moneyball" but it doesn't take a genius to try and sign these players and very often for other clubs and even Newcastle themselves in the past these types of signings have been spectacular failures

Is there something in the water over in Italy that prevents Italian-based agents, like Ramirez and Aquilani's, from keeping quiet when they're about to make a deal? I doubt Ramirez is coming to us. I think that might have flown after Dalglish left.

Not a chance it's us if he's in London. Plus every journalist associated with the club has rubbished the links to us.

Arsenal/Spurs. Likely Spurs since we've been linked with him before.

Not fit to lace Downing's boots.

He might not be fit, but if he can tie Downing's laces, even if it's with the stupid fucking "bunny ears" method, it'll be a big help. Downing can't tie his own laces because he's too fucking busy holding Enrique's hand when the oppos nasty right back snarls at him. How come I can see that we need a lace knotter on the left wing and this fucking Brian Rodgers who gets paid millions a week can't see it eh?

Not unreasonable to think we may well meet him down there considering he'll be flying in from wherever.

Could be just catching up? Making a plan like?

Italian agents are absolute weapons though. Why do they feel the need to just chat utter bollocks? I don't need to know every time they go for a turd, but they feel the need to tell the world
