What I like about Walcott is he's quick, he's fast and he's got pace.

Know what you mean mate. He's a professional footballer playing professional football in the premier league.

The focus of our attack next season should quite simply be creating as much space and freedom for Luis Suarez as he's an extremely talented player (in the same way Barca do for Lionel Messi). If the acqusition of Theo Walcott gave Suarez more space, then I'm all for it.

He's not that good really and if he's so good why would Arsenal be willing to let him go

Because Arsene Wenger stubbornly refuses to learn the lessons from Flamini, Fabregas, Nasri and van Persie sagas?

Walcott's still only 23. If we got him I reckon we'd have him for his best years and still be able to sell him on for a tidy profit

Considering he wants 100k a week from Arsenal...keep walking
Fuck it, I'm taking me dog for a walk. The pair of us are completely bollocksed and take turns a piece dragging one another along. We look a bit like one of Roy's midfield pairings, but with a wee bit more guile and panache. Well, on the dog's side, anyway

                   Reina
Johnson  Skrtel  Agger Enrique
                   Lucas
            Gerrard   ??
    Walcott               Suarez
                 Borini

With the front three very fluid I could see that being a handful to deal with. It'd be nice to have Andy as a totally different option too. Walcott though doesn't have the same defensive contribution as the others. He's a little slack in that regard

Great comparison.

Walcott is an English Babel. Babel hardly got a chance, if he did i think he would have got similar stats. He's got a better shot, is much better phsically and i'd say more skilful. Both equally brainless.

The same Babel who has 5g 1a in 43 starts for Hoffenheim?  Over the same time period Walcott has 17g 15a in 51 starts for Arsenal.  The production comparison is a joke.

Anyway imo this all comes down to price.  He's a good player, but he's not a 100k/week guy in my eyes.  If he can be had and fit into the existing salary structure of the players who are going to be here long term then I'd be all for it.

Ahahaha. I presume your putting Walcott along the same line as those players. Ahahaha. The players you mentioned all were vital for Arsenal and big clubs were after them. Walcott Arsenal could do without, Ox is already twice the player and us, finished 8th last season are the only team linked with him.

Not sure if I agree with that, his defensive work's always been decent enough when I've seen him. His pace would be a benefit when he's pressing as well.

And Chelsea. If Oxlade-Chamberlain is "twice the player" why doesn't he start ahead of him? He could be in the future, but as of now Chamberlain hasn't shown that he's better than Walcott.

Not putting him in that category, but Wenger is making the same mistake: letting a talented player go because he won't break his wage cap.  It was suggested that Arsenal would not let him go if he was so good.  The players I mentioned are clear proof that that idea is bunkum.

Also, Chelsea are linked with a move for Walcott.

I'm not going to use the example above as demonstration of his pace, if I remember correctly he'd only been on the pitch a few minutes, but what that clip demonstrates is incredible close control with the ball. He dances around Alonso like he isn't there with the ball almost glued to his foot and skips past a few more challenges. His his play isn't as unintelligent as some are making out, he knew exactly how to weight the pass into the box knowing Skrtel would run straight past it. Super play.

Is he world class? Not for me, but he'd definitely improve us and would sit in with BR's known preferred style of play. Not sure this will come off but would be pretty happy if it did.

I remember watching this play all too well. It made me sick.

Jeez, people do this all the time. He's not twice the player Walcott is. People say the same re: Sterling and Downing. He's young, inexperienced and has bucketloads of talent.

He probably will be better than Walcott. One day.

If Walcott is still there next season he will, Chamberlain is a better footballer in nearly every aspect and would have usurped Walcott a while ago if Wenger didn't believe in slowly blending him in.

Yep definitely. Your definition of dribble would leave you thinking Downing is as good a dribbler as Messi then. Walcott shifts and runs. The odd decent trick so inconsistent it doens't matter.

And yeh you remember that, he's a highlight reel footballer, a short highlight reel at that. He's a player that we're going to have to carry, if we don't do this or that he will be useless to us.

See video that Graeme posted. Its been quoted on page 15 if you dont want to look through shite to find it.

If thats 'shifting and run' then Im watching the wrong sport.

Thats probably one of a few examples in his last 5 years you can find of Walcott actually dribbling past players, his dribbling is average and thats not hyperbole.

I mever did say he was a great at dribbling with the ball, just that he was okay with it. And if his dribbling isnt good enough I dont give a shit if he shifts and runs so long as he beats his man!

He might be a good option but realistically I think we need to find an intelligent winger/wide forward (or alternatively a bona-fide forward) before splurging on the likes of Walcott. There are plenty of options out there.

It might be just me but the way I see it Walcott could be here for 5+ years and Dempsey not more than 3. I'd like us to build towards something with signings that help in the long run as well as the short rather than slightly better stop gaps that in 2-3 years time have dropped off.

nah.. the bigger joke is there seem to be many on here that think that Maxi is a world beater right now and better than both  .. but yet Demspey and Walcott are not good enough for us..

there also might be a few really moronic ones that will even think Kuyt is better than both too
