Utterly mental, but utterly brilliant.

Sorry to see Maxi go. He may have departed, but his song will continue forever.

Class on and off the pitch.
He'll be missed, probably more than we think now.
Best of luck Maxi... and thanks

We still would have needed him in my opinion. His beautiful letter shows how much he cared.

Good luck Maxi and thank you for everything.

What a shame. He was like Litmanen all over again. Good luck Maxi.
Let us never forget Rafael Benitez and what he did for us. A fighter full of guts and passion. A gentleman full of class and dignity. A football manager full of intelligence and pure genius. A Legend.

Gutted, loved maxi, thought he gave us a real cutting edge without being too fancy. Good Luck and thanks for being such a great squad player, no moaning, happy to come off the bench, played well in big games for us but equally good in so called lesser games, well done and thanks!

Ah shame. One of my favourite LFC memories was Fulham away 2 seasons back, hot sunny day, drinking from 3pm with loads of RAWKites and singing his song all through the game and the night as he bossed Fulham, inspiring a 5-2 victory. Class player.

Maxi was terribly underused. It was so obvious and it's our own fault we didn't get as much as we could from him. A very good player to have around. Shame Rodgers didn't get to try him out.

Can only wish Maxi all the best.

His farewell letter is great too. I remember watching that Fulham game in a pub in which there was a guy slagging Maxi off before the match something terrible. He completely shut up after that utterly brilliant third.

Surprised it took 8 pages for that picture to make an appearance.

Maxi under Kenny was an uncomfortable reminder of Jari under Ged.

Criminally underused.

Agree with the comment that he was a good servant through some tough times didn't play as much as he should but never complained. I brilliant Professional. More players with attitude like his and kyuits would be great.

Best wishes, Maxi hope your move goes brilliantly

One of my favourite players of the mid-noughties. Would've loved him at his peak, but grateful that I got to scratch the itch of seeing him as a Liverpool player, regardless of where he was in his career. Classy as fuck.

shame really. i had a small hope he would stay but we didn't use him properly and put faith in new signings rather than a proper player like him. a great rafa signing. remember the day he signed. came on the pitch at half time in an fa cup tie might have been reading. we went out

Will always remember him scoring 7 goals in the space of 3 games under Kenny, in some of the best Liverpool performances I've ever seen. Goodbye and good luck, YNWA.
