Before signing for LFC, I just saw the club as one of the greatest institutions in football. After my time here I can confirm that this is not just a great club but also a great family.

I have tried to give everything every day that I was wearing the LFC crest. It has been a great honour to defend this shirt during two and a half years. I am returning home with a suitcase full of great memories, good friends within the team and also within this great family that works every day in the club. Thanks a lot for your support. You can NOT imagine what a great honour it was for me when the Kop sang, 'Maxi, Maxi Rodríguez runs down the wing for me da da da da dada...'

Good Luck Maxi. Should have played much more often last season. Great man to pop up in the right place at right time to score. You will be missed. Maxi, Kuyt and maybe bellamy and carroll. A lot of firepower gone.

17 goals in 72 games isn't to be sniffed at for a midifelder, especially as for a fair few of those games he'd have been coming off the bench?

Hope we get a couple of players who can replace or better him and Kuyt's contributions over the years - we'll have done well if we do.

Didn't rate him when he first signed for us, and by didn't rate, I mean I didn't understand, but kinell, a big loss. Terrific little player, possibly our best finisher since God and seems like a good lad to boot.
