On the evidence that has been presented that is the only verdict that could be arrived at.

Anyone questioning the verdict will be banned for a while. You simply don't have as much evidence as has been seen by the magistrate so you are in no position to judge.

The discussion if any that now ensues is whether there is a case for the FA to charge him anyway. I suspect not given that a court has already ruled that it is impossible to tell whether he was calling Ferdinand that or asking him if he had been called that.

That is basically it. He was found "Not Guilty" as was the only verdict that could be reached.

Just makes the Luis thing so much worse, because the FA won't touch this with a barge pole.

Agree the verdict was spot on.

Surely there's nothing the fa can do, they won't have a leg to stand on trying to ban him if a court of law already has decided he's not guilty. Wonder how different the suarez case wouldve been if the courts were in charge...

By that standard they would never take any action unless a criminal conviction had been handed down by the courts. Suarez' case never even got to court, would have been dismissed if Evra made the charge.

The FA have to charge Terry and find him guilty, based on "the balance of probability." They can not apply a different standard to Terry and to Suarez. They made their bed with the handling of Suarez / Evra case and now they have to lie in it.

Tony Barrett suggested during the week that the FA investigation and charge will happen immediately after the court case.

Don't really think that the FA can do anything now, can they? If he's found legally not guilty, surely even they couldn't charge him over the same incident?

Well... they still got the "balance of probabilities" to work with... if they want to...
but we've all known the answer to that all along. I'd be surprised if pursuing this further fits their agenda. As it was never about racism or racial abuse.

The FA need to take note on how to conduct a Trial. This is the verdict that should have come out of the Suarez/Evra case.

a) There wasn't enough evidence to conclusively suggest what was said
b) Whether it was an insult or not in context of the above.

Regarding the FA investigation I suppose it'll depend on whether or not they use "balance of probability" or "beyond all reasonable doubt" . If it's the latter of the two then there's no case to be made.

I'm glad this was the judgement. Suarez was found guilty by the FA with significantly lesser evidence. The FA has been shown up for what it really is.

I'm disappointed with the outcome like most people on here, however what people need to remember this was NOT the FA that have decided this!

The FA are now going to continue there own investigation- lets hope they throw the book at him (Highly doubt it though!)

So even though they don't believe Ferdinand accused him of anything, there is still a possibility Terry misheard him and said the words in a sarcastic way?

Not sure how FA would would respond. I suppose if you can't say for sure he was using the words as an insult, there isn't much they can do.

only possible outcome, you couldn't be sure what he said. Awful case from Anton Ferdinand's side, outcome was inevitable.
