A player compared to another player who doesn't actually play anything like them.  Awesome!

Sturridge is about 5% better than Ryan Babel
And on his day Babel was a cracking player. Only things was his day was about as often as Halley's comet appearances...

My original was fine.  That was my point.  It seems that whenever we get linked with a quick black player he gets compared with Babel.  Does my head in.

Why would Sturridge leave Chelsea to come to us?

Not a chance in hell this is going to happen IMO.

Why would Sturridge leave Chelsea to come to us?

Because he's competing with about a trillion different players for a place and Di Matteo doesn't seem to rate him?

Because he is not getting a game at Chelsea and they have just signed Hazard who is someone else ahead of him. They've also bid for Schurrle so are still after forward players.

If the Borini story turns out to be a goer, this thread should be locked.

It's obvious LFC are after a forward, so most stories linking us to forwards are probably just agents pushing their wares (Sturridge, Kalou etc).

Edit: and Dempsey.

As proven, play this lad as the main striker and you can't go wrong. Potential to be very prolific. Not sure where that leaves Carroll though?

Andy Carroll will have to content with a squad place.

Neither him or Suarez will get more than 15 goals next season... so we need an out and out striker with Luis Suarez playing behind or in a 3 causing his mischief for the opposing defence. Meanwhile Andy Carroll should be spared the pressure of leading the line all season and will become an impact sub OR be played against certain teams to trouble a suspect defence.

I'd agree with that. I've got a sneaky feeling he's gonna go crazy next year and contend for top scorer in the league.

Good player, proved it at City, Bolton , and generally done OK at Chelsea.
If he's between 10 and 15m we should try to sign him.
Most importantly he's got an eye for goal.

Fort Minor - Remember the Name ...I know the frustration  ;D

On point though, can't see Sturridge coming to us regardless. Think it's a battle between him and Torres for that out and out striker role at Chelsea, given the patchy form Torres has had, think he might fancy his chances.

Got this feeling too as long as we have a plan in the way we set out to attack and open up enough space for him to get clear chances.

So clearly going to Spurs if he leaves, they're short on strikers and Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas. seems to rate him

Yeah he threw a strop just before Villas Boas left because he was being forced out onto the right despite making it clear he wanted to play centrally. He wouldn't go to Spurs now after that
