Personally I think its better if Fallows is an FSG appointment rather than a Rodgers man, not for the sake of checks and balances - its fine if Rodgers has final decision in all purchases - but to make sure there is a football man in place who can identify if any players are signed by Rodgers that do not fit the clubs overall footballing philosophy, from the academy up. Also, make sure that the entire scouting network understands what we are looking for.
Rather than Comolli and Dalglish, where players were signed without consideration of whether they fit with each other or an idea of how we want to play football, and also where it appeared Comolli and Dalglish had their own ideas on whom to sign, creating a bit of a mishmash in our squad. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if during the end of the year review FSG could not figure out - among other things - who specifically signed the flops, what did they have in mind when doing so, what were their plans to rectify and the rationale behind the plans. Partially explaining FSG's decision to sack both.
Rather have a DoF but hopefully this will help us get more cohesion in the transfer market as to who and why we are signing players.
