But WHY leave City for us?
Well, City only sign proven class players nowadays, so what's the challenge for their scouts?

I think Liverpool had to sign scouts from a big club. Rodgers and his Swansea pals have probably scouted plenty of potential Swansea players, but a much bigger club like Liverpool need to look at a different market. For example, Fallows and Hunter should know all about Gaston Ramirez, while it's a waste of time for Swansea scouts to watch him.

Personally I think its better if Fallows is an FSG appointment rather than a Rodgers man, not for the sake of checks and balances - its fine if Rodgers has final decision in all purchases - but to make sure there is a football man in place who can identify if any players are signed by Rodgers that do not fit the clubs overall footballing philosophy, from the academy up.   Also, make sure that the entire scouting network understands what we are looking for.

Rather than Comolli and Dalglish, where players were signed without consideration of whether they fit with each other or an idea of how we want to play football, and also where it appeared Comolli and Dalglish had their own ideas on whom to sign, creating a bit of a mishmash in our squad.  Also, I wouldn't be surprised if during the end of the year review FSG could not figure out - among other things - who specifically signed the flops, what did they have in mind when doing so, what were their plans to rectify and the rationale behind the plans.  Partially explaining FSG's decision to sack both.

Rather have a DoF but hopefully this will help us get more cohesion in the transfer market as to who and why we are signing players.

Being from Northern Ireland and a bit familiar with Irish League Barry Hunter played Irish League for a team called Crusaders and went onto play for Northern Ireland in the 90's.  Think he may have played lower league in England too.  That's about it.  Didn't even know he'd moved into scouting or was at City until today.

I would guess they will be operating on much smaller budgets here so the mistakes will be smaller, but with that the chance of success also diminishes.
Odd. Unless there is something we don't know, they'll now be operating on a completely different level. Why??

Why do people think scouts were responsible for Balotelli? Looks a lot like Mancini's signing if you ask me, worked with him before and knows his qualities (and temperament). He's not been that bad for them either.

This makes a lot of sense - access to high quality player knowledge at a bracket Swansea would not consider

So presumably this is the lad responsible for the likes of Jo, Balotelli, and Kolarov? Great.

No Balotelli played for Inter under Mancini. Mancini is the main reason for the Balotelli transfer.
Where once we watched the King Kenny play, and could he play.

He'll still have scouted him probably.

Did our scouts scout Konchesky before Roy signed him?

This thread is laughable, people attempting to attribute different signings at Man City to different people when in reality nobody has a fucking scooby who decided on Signing A or Signing B.
