How were we shafted, I'd rather get them games over with at the start of the season, we have to play them at some stage like. The only 'big' team we have from the 9th Feb on is Chelsea, I'd rather start on hard games than finish on them to be honest.

True, if we do lose we have a better chance during the season to get as many points as possible.

Fuck it. How about we just win the first 5 games, then deal with the other 33 after that

Happy about this, if we can get a decent result against man city we will be well up for the next two home games.

Can't wait now already.

Last year United got Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea (all home) in their first five games. And their opener was West Brom away. Can we stop with these conspiracy bollocks?
Spot on. Some of our lot are embarrassing.
We've won the league, we've won the cup, we've been to Europe too!

One day, people will hopefully look back and say "I was there son. I was there the year that Spurs won nothing again."

Rubbish - If anything Suarez will be a lot sharper than other players as having played competitive rather pre-season matches.

It was slightly earlier in the summer last year but you have a good point - last year he won the Copa America and then started the season very well with goals against Sunderland and Arsenal by the end of August.

There are some criterias that go into the fixtures. Like Liverpool and Everton will never have home games on the same day. Or no more than 2 home games should be played continuously. Or on boxing day, the teams play closer to home.

Does anyone know about this?

It's on 11th August.

For me any player involved in the Olympics really shouldn't be brought into the team until mid September/early October for risk of burn out or injury. Which would mean no Suarez, Coates and maybe others for these opening games.
No chance.

Why would they be burnt out? They'll start training/playing around the same time as the rest of the squad for pre season. Having them play the Olympics rather than pre season could work in our favour as they'll be playing competitive matches

Some you guys need grow a pair! its new season anything is possible from reading this you would of thought we just come up last season and have worst squad in league.

Relax and just embrace the new season with little smile on your face rather than fear, already doubting your team yet you expect them to do well :butt

For once lets start worrying about what we can do as team not fearing others!
Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez admitted after the match that the manner of his side's victory had stunned him and he stated: "My problem is that I don't have words to express the things that I feel at this moment"

To be honest, I don't think it'll be that tough. More harder at the second half of the season where we vs them away.

Fuck it, go all out on the Arsenal game adn take the City game as it comes.  Chances are we'll be competing to catch Arsenal at that point more than City so if I had to pick one to go all out on i'd choose teh Arsenal game.

Well... I guess on the plus side we'll have got most of the big teams out of the way by early Feb (assuming there aren't too many rescheduled games).

That's an awesome set of home matches at the start.

We should look to take advantage of slow starts by Man City, Man U and Arsenal - yes I can dream!

Not happy with playing two away games vs united, and managed to draw city this year as well...

Otherwise it looks good.
It’s not even about individuality, it’s about the team. Our game was based on his controlling of the tempo. Squeeze the life out of the opposition and then strike. That is our game. Like a pack of pythons.

I think it's a fantastic start. It's the only way to do it, in at the deep end, and as all three of those big games are at home, you know we're going to start off Rodgers' tenure with some fantastic Anfield atmospheres. Early six-pointers there: win two or three of those and we get an early head start against our rivals. Pre-season will have to be nailed, too.. Everyone at the club should be working incredibly hard to get up to speed quickly.
Believes in Brendan.
