And you know what, I bet he wouldnt have it any other way either. Perfect way to get the doubters on side if we manage to win them all.

Im not doubting him and hope he gets the 3 years he signed for and many more. The fact is if we do badly to start the season due to tought fixtures the media and fickle fans will be all over him and it wont help anything, thats all. He has no where to hide from these fixtures basically has to show what hes got right away, i hope he does it and even if he doesnt ill still have faith.

Liverpool will kick off the new season with a trip to Steve Clarke's West Bromwich Albion on the weekend of August 18 before the champions travel to Merseyside a week later for Brendan Rodgers' first competitive home game.

The Merseyside derbies take place on October 27 (A) and May 4 (H).

Another fixture our new manager will be looking out for is his first return to the Liberty Stadium to face former club Swansea on November 24.

On Boxing Day Liverpool travel to Stoke City, while the fixture list has Sunderland down to visit L4 on New Year's Day.

Our season will reach a conclusion when Queens Park Rangers make the journey to Anfield on Sunday, May 19.

Liverpool's Capital One Cup (League Cup) campaign is due to start on September 26. The final is set to be staged on February 24. The FA Cup third round is scheduled for the weekend of January 5, with the final on May 11.

Here is our fixture list in full:

AUGUST

18 West Brom (A)
25 Manchester City (H)

...

MAY

4 Everton (H)
12 Fulham (A)
19 QPR (H)

At this stage the fixture list is subject to change. Any fixtures that are immediately preceding Europa League match days will be moved to the Sunday.

Tough start for us. Could have been a heck of a lot easier than what we have.
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. If we can score a goal quickly we push on from there.""

Wow. Tough set of fixtures all the way till the start of December. The first 14 games are just huge. Look at each of them. A couple of decent ones sprinkled in but the rest are just packed in too tight together.
I would prefer a

R.Ferdinand - Terry - A.Ferdinand

Defence.

Would've liked Rodgers to have a bit more time to work with the team before the big clubs come to Anfield. Not ideal to have 3 lined up our first 3 home games.

Very difficult start to the season that, City, Arsenal and Utd very early on.  Was hoping Rodgers would get a relatively good start so we can develop into his style of playing.

December looks easy, could easily go on a massive win streak there, End of the season isnt to harsh either.

September November January and February hardest months imo.

That the City, utd and Arsenal games in the beginning are at home could be an advantage. Either we do well and Rodgers has a flying start or we do poorly and he will be deemed to inexperienced. At least these games are not all away so the chances that we do well are higher.

Only advanatge I can see in playing City, Arsenal and Utd early is that they (hopefully) will still be finding form. Hopefully that levels playing field

Holy shit, that's a tough start. I fear for Rodgers if we don't get off to an absolute flier.
Why? Why fear for him? Looking at those opening fixtures at the moment:

18 West Brom (A)
25 Manchester City (H)
1 Arsenal (H)
15 Sunderland (A)
22 Manchester United (H)

What (realistically), considering last season, are we expecting? West brom away? Probably a draw. Manchester City at home...probably a draw, Arsenal at home, a draw, sunderland away, probably a draw, Mancs at home, a draw.

See what i mean, that's best case based on how last season went. That's 5 points from the opening 5 games. I think we'll do better than that if i'm honest.

Fuck it, you've got to play the some time. At least they're at home and not away.
And when you find yourself along the untrodden path

And a feast for the friends and faces met along way
