I don't regard a phone call from a ghost writing hack as being "part of the editorial". As far as I know, the hack phones up suggests a few topics, notes what the 'columnist' thinks and then creates the copy and headline.

I agree lets lynch Kenny... what is he thinking.  ::)

Never bought any tabloid (and very few broadsheets) and Kenny joining them will not change that

Disappointed that he joined such garbage - but his choice

That really wasn't his point, was it. Simply that Dalglish 'writing' a column does not automatically mean better press for the club within the paper as a whole, let alone him having any sort of editorial influence. I can see why Dalglish might want to be working and I can see why people might be disappointed he's chosen the Mirror.

Today, truth.
Tomorrow, justice for the 96.

Ah right! so knowing Kenny's unflappable loyalty to the club he's going to write a whole load of garbage that will air our dirty linen in the press now, at the request of the editor.

Jesus wept, you guys don't know our Kenny very well do you.

You don't read very well, do you?

Enlighten me - seeing as though Kenny will not be writing the whole blooming paper, any half wit will recognise he won't control the whole outlet with regards to our club.

But whatever input he does have, will be positive.

Not that it matters to you anyway, seeing as though no-one seems to read papers on here.

Fair play to him. Dumped on by FSG and some "fans" here, let him do what the fuck he likes.
Given enough to this club over the years, who are a few fans on football forums to say what he can do. Maybe even do us some good having a proper red legend in the tabloid press.
The mirror is shite (but its not the scum) but so are all tabloids. If you don't like them don't read them.

Stupid comment, but to be honest any outrage over this and being offended over it undermines the campaign against the Sun, which is the paper that deserves our hate and boycott.

Its not a stupid comment. The point was made it doesnt matter what paper works for. Really?
Kenny slated the press last year and the mirror was right up there in the most spiteful shite of all. Im amazed Kenny is going to take their money.

So Kenny has some time on his hands and he loves talking about football, something he knows a lot about.
Being manager again has got him back involved in the game he loves, and he's more clued in now than he has been for years.
Is he supposed to just go playing golf again and switch off from football overnight?

None of us are in a position to judge what he does in his own time, and as much as I dislike the Mirror, I certainly don't have any issue with it.
Still, I'd rather see him standing on the touchline at Anfield, and it makes me sad that he won't be.

I’m confused by this thread, I mean, I thought when Kenny was sacked there were quite a few people telling the rest of us that he’s gone and it’s time to move on, isn’t that what Kenny’s done?

At the end of the day Kenny, like the rest of us, makes his own choice as to who he works for.  Some of us might not agree with the paper he’s chosen but he has his reasons and I’m pretty sure Kenny Dalglish is intelligent enough to know and understand how the media work.

I do not get the big deal. Ok, not the best choice (mirror) but everyone makes it sound like Kenny wasn't already writing pieces for the media before he got the Liverpool job. He was regularly writing for a media outlet with articles on all sorts such as Englands system under Capello and how Wilshere/Gerrard should be partnered etc.

i seriously wish people would wake up and stop spouting that shit

its embarrising

I'll start of by saying if you're embarrassed by anything, it should be your spelling.

Then I'll say that I'd prefer the people of RAWK to decide which of us is "embarrising"; me who supported Kenny through thick or thin, or you who comes up with one post in every 100 that is not criticising somebody at the club you allege to support and who actually said

I think Kenny is old enough and sensible enough to make his own decisions. We don't know what offers he's had and how measured this decision is.

He may have taken great pleasure in telling other papers to go shove it up their fucking arse.

I'm pleased that he's gone to work; he deserves to write his piece about the modern game and deserves a place in the media.
It's fantastic that we now have someone in the media who we know will defend us more than the rest of the media c*nts, but I don't understand why he joined The Mirror, or any tabloid shit. Why not the Guardian, Daily Telegraph etc? Something with a little more class and dignity.

Think it just shows why Kenny wasn't the right man for the Liverpool job the second time around. He doesn't want to manage, doesn't have that burning desire or ambition that a manager has to have.

I dont understand the connection between agreeing to write a column (albeit for a shitty sad excuse for a newspaper) and not being capable enough to be a manager for the second time. I also dont understand how you deduce that he has no burning desire.. so he has no desire to manage but clearly has desire to write?  Wanting to write means you have no desire to be a football manager? I dont agree with that and im so confused!  :o i really just think he should stop being castigated , being disappointed is one thing , but at the end of the day its his life. He has given his all to this football club, he deserves a break at this age. Oh and he deserves some respect too.

I think he quite clearly wanted to be a manager or he wouldn't have accepted the job full time. He could have easily spoken to the owners last summer and told them that he was stepping down and that they could look for a new full time manager. The fact that he didn't would suggest he wanted to manage the club.

Kenny Dalglish could come round and piss in my oven chips daily and I'd think it was his right.

That said, the column was a bit shit. It was like something from Match or Shoot. Haven't read The Mirror in years, so maybe that's the standard nowadays.

The Mirror is not The Sun, all the papers are as bad as each other.

Dalglish however gets his chance to say his thoughts about the game and gets paid to do so.

I have no issue with this and good luck to Dalglish I say, he is our King after all!

I have no idea why he would want to work for them. Clearly he can't be short of money.

Ah well, it's solely his decision what he wants to do. I just hope everything is good with him and hopefully we'll see him at Anfield a lot next season.
