Thought about it and wouldn't be too heartbroken if Rafa went to Spurs (now that he's not coming back to us).

The main reason I had a strong dislike of Spurs has just gone out the door.

For selfish reasons, I hope to God they don't get Rafa. Help yourself to Moyes.

I just find it a strange decision , i dont like Arry but he has done a great job there , Levy might regret this decision for a long time

Loads of good managers out there.

You have posted literally nothing of substance to flame about.  Your "points", and I dread to call them that, were superficial and completely arbitrary.  Nothing you said could be argued against because nothing you said elaborated a position of any kind.

Slaven Bilic to be next Spurs manager (you heard it here first) - 25/1 with William Hill. (16-1 with Ladbrokes)

Taking the Lokomotiv Moscow job after the Euros isn't he?

spurs find themselves in shit now, trying to find a manager and keep all their prized assets intact!

suddenly our circus a couple of weeks ago don't seem that bad!

Don't think rafa will go there....he likes to have the sort of control which Daniel Levy will not give him i reckon.
But you never know....wouldn't like to see rafa at any english side apart from ours. man has to get earn a living tho!

That spurs squad with rafa's tactics is a scary thought  :o

But im hopeful they end up signing someone like Moyes, Martinez, O'Neill etc.

Fair enough! Cheers, was looking at the odds and wondering who to take a punt on.

I reckon he is too much of a risk this soon into his managerial career too.  I mean it's only  been 2 good seasons at Brighton, even though he has done really well.  Massive jump to manage a side looking to finish top 4.

Rafa going to Spurs would be a potential repeat of his Inter move- relatively old squad, big rebuild required...not so sure if this is what he wants....

I don't mean any disrespect to you there mate, but why do people keep banging this drum?  All he wanted was football people managing the football jobs.  When he realised there wasn't any he sought to do it all himself.

Had there been the right people in place he would have left well alone (well within reason, he was the manager after all).

Whoever takes over at Spurs will struggle because they probably wont have Adabayor, Modric or Bale there next season, three of their best players.

s'ok....the context in which i was referring to was more to do with the players...i think Levy has had alot of say with respect to who has been brought into Spurs over the years, might be a clash there with Rafa....

But that's just the opinion i have formed. Not trying to say Rafa wants all the say and won't backdown....but i do think there would be abit of a power struggle there..

just had a thought...Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas to Spurs!!!! Winner

We're not gonna sell Modric and Bale in the same season. I'd expect Modric to go this Summer though. No idea about Adebayor - seems he wants to sign but wages will be a problem I'd imagine

I don't think АVB would like to work under financial restrictions that are in place there. I see Spurs promoting someone like Moyes or maybe even Martinez.  Dave Whelan will be rubbing his hands for more publicity.

think its most likely Adebayor will go....somewhere like PSG or Malaga..or a rich russian/chinese club...

If there was an offer for £30 mil to let go of Modric....or £45 mil to let Bale go....which would you prefer?

Rafa going to Spurs really scares me. I think it would guarantee them at least top four next year and a possible title tilt.

I do think Rafa needs to go to a club where he will get the fan support he deserves. I don't think he'd get that at Spurs or possibly any other English club, which I find crazy. He really should look to take up a top job abroad now. I think he'd be perfect for a club like AC Milan ... he'd bring back the Arigo Saachi days to them.

Some Mancs seem to be saying there's a theory that he's walked cos Levy has made a deal to sell Modric behind his back? Sounds unlikely to me.

Nah..he was sacked, not walked...Club statement is full of "difficult decision the board and myself (Levy) have had to make.." There's no "we" or discussion expressed or implied. They sacked him

You have been listening to Arry too much, 2 points from 8 games blah blah.

It's not like they had a dog shit team when he took over and he performed a minor miracle by taking them up the table. They were masively unperforming under Ramos, but had won the league cup the season before and finished 5th 2 seasons in a row before that.

One thing Levy is not is stupid

Truly small team mentality there. Was he the best tactician? No. But he took a club consistently mid-table to a top preforming club, even if Levy was the one bringing in players. Took them to CL for the first time.

Doubt they will be able to return to their top 4 status. Their time (like Leeds) is up. A couple of top 5 finishes but no cup Sounds like a normal Spurs game.

How is it small time mentality? They don't see themselves as a feeder club for England managers and think their squad and organisation is bigger than one manager. There's a huge amount of bollocks spoken and written about Redknapp - the brilliant manager who's actually won fuck all. Did he suddenly turn a Championship club into a title winner? No, he took a team that was under performing under Ramos and put them back about where they should have been based on their transfer spend and wage bill. Under Jol they'd finished 5th twice in 06 and 07, hardly mid-table or relegation fodder.

And what do you mean by return to their top four status? What top four status is that? They've finished fourth twice and been in the champions league once and 'Arry achieved that by fucking off other competitions. Maybe Levy wants a manager who can actually win trophies?
