Spurs fans don't want Moyes nor Rafa, they'd prefer Luís André de Pina Cabral

Do they bollocks, they don't even know who he is.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Andy Heaton implying they're keen on Rafa.

This will break my heart and I will shed tears! Although TBF why wouldn't they be keen?

It'll be Martinez or Moyes.

Hope it's Moyes, his turgid brand of football will have them after him before long.
I'm really hoping Sturridge busts out the wacky dip when he scores.

At Tottenham? No chance. Already sacked him once!

Fair enough! Cheers, was looking at the odds and wondering who to take a punt on.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. No problem :)

How fickle are they (spurs fans). A few months ago many of them wanted him out when it looked like they'd blown CL qualification with a top 4 finish and all I've been hearing today is that it's all Levy's fault and how could they take our beloved 'Arry away.

That'll be Modric off to Utd then......

Slaven Bilic to be next Spurs manager (you heard it here first) - 25/1 with William Hill. (16-1 with Ladbrokes)

Stunning that a manager that took over when they were pretty much last after 8 games with 2 points, took them to 8th in the same season, then finished 4th, 5th, 4th in the following seasons can get fired like this.

Hopefully this will play into our hands if they lose 1 or 2 of their main players and fail to replace them with quality. Is Moyes a better manager than Redknapp? I'm not sure to be honest...

They've been here before. When Spurs were selling the likes of Berbatov, Keane and Carrick, the received wisdom was that they were a selling club that lacked ambition. "Good news for us really" has been replaced with watching them consistently finish above us. They're a well run club with their plans for a new stadium seemingly further down the road than ours too.

All this talk of Moyes and Everton Itk's aside you'd have thought that if regular CL football was the plan, they'd want to go for someone with more European football pedigree or even experience.

Probably Capello.

From the ever-entertaining Martin Samuel

Turns out it was all an accident. Champions League football, that night against Inter Milan, Gareth Bale becoming one of the greatest wide players in Europe, the best sustained sequence of league finishes in 48 years. Fluked, the lot of it.
Harry Redknapp was never any cop as Tottenham manager. Says so right here on this messageboard.

Poor, poor Harry.

Probably Capello.
Could be/Should be. There's quite a few proven manager's out there, as we well know. Spurs tend to be pretty swift with their appointments so I doubt we'll have long to wait.

Initially seems a strange decision by Tottenham. As much as I loathe Redknapp he is up there in the list of managers who can over achieve with the resources that they have.

So, if they are a sensible club, they will have sacked him for one reason only. They already know who the successor will be. And who has been sniffing around in recent weeks? Fabio Capello.

Only question is whether Spurs can afford him.

Please, please let them appoint a chaotic failure. No one wants to see Spurs in the top half of the table.

I wouldn't want Capello. Great manager obviously, but he's never managed in the Premier League and hes struggled to get to grips with the English language. Hes also (like Harry) getting on a bit! I'd rather appoint a manager with at least a decade in management ahead of them.

Benitez ;) I wasn't always a big fan of him at Liverpool, but he's got all the right qualifications. Certainly a better option than Moyes!

Problem with Arry is that he always looks after himself first. His reluctance to commit whilst he thought he had the England job in the bag exposed him for the self interested bloke he is and furthermore with Spurs since March he took his eye off the ball literally!

Just give him a couple of years and he'll win your entire fanbase over.  If Levy/the fans give him a chance, I think in a few years he could really take Spurs to new heights.

I have a colleague who's a Spurs fan and he's destroyed by this. Personally i dont understand it. His arguement was the players he's bought while he's been there but i countered this with the majority of them were bought by Commolli while he was there and the financial sides of the transfers were handled by Commolli. While Harry may have suggested players to buy, they were hardly obscure names nobody had heard of before.

Personally i think Spurs may be slightly worse off but can't see Levy c*cking things up to a degree like he did with hiring Ramos. Also the inevitable talk with players leaving etc. With the exception of Modric, i can't see any more of their 'bigger' players leaving solely due to this

Redknapp certainly couldn't write this shit.
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered.
