Apparently just signed for Borussia Mönchengladbac.

Just looking for a better source.

Edit: Cant find a reliable source at the mo but will have another look in the morning.

Pretty sure that the lad that was on in here in January who had sources in Blackburn said that he was moving abroad if nobody signed him in January.

Is it worth more money to him than to stay in the premierleague ?

Was expecting plenty of offers from premierleague clubs , isnt the compensation only £800k

I like that move. Should get a better footballing education there. Obviously if he does well or even if not so well he can always come back.

Him, probably. They haven't signed anyone for the wings besides Hoilett.
To replace Neustädter, they bought Granit Xhaka. Also a shrewd move.

Too many sit on the wage and stay at a mediocre level rather than test themselves, not all about cash.

Well his wage demands were quite high when we were in for him in January apparently. He might have moved for the cash, you never know.

He had an interview at the Canada / USA friendly (he's in the stands, still not capped for us)

Anyway - he said his club status still isn't resolved and the reports that he's signed for Gladbach are false

He has just been on TV in canada, he`s at the USA - Canada game in toronto, he has not done a deal with MGB and has offers from `several clubs`

Apparently he is also eligible to play for England which is something he wants. Don't know how though.

We really should be signing players like Hoilett. Its bad enough that we lack players of his ability and attributes in our squad, that we let someone slip by.

Only sources at the moment are the likes of Click Lancashire, The S*n and German tabloid (Express) were the story originated and who the majority of reports mention. No papers in Canada have mentioned it. If anything it's likely that Gladbach are head of the queue or at least in it. If it were done, it would be on their official, the Bundesliga website or something reputable like Kicker.

If you check the citation it takes you to a Mirror article where he says this:

“I will always be Canadian, but all the options are open - Canada, Jamaica, possibly the USA and maybe one day England."

I'm actually reasonably impressed with his decision. I think it shows nous and guts, as well as the want to better himself. Monchengladbach are a decent side, although they've lost Reus and Neustadter, they've added Hoilett and Xhaka, good signings. They a canny club and I don't think they'll waste the increased revenue that comes from the Champions League.

Like others have said, many suspect he is holding out for English citizenship, but he could also play for Jamaica.

Him being at the Canadian friendly vs. USA is a good sign for us, but who knows what his plans are. Of course, if Canada qualified for 2014 he'd probably join up, but there's a good chance we won't make it without any players of his quality.

God id love it if he decided to play for canada, but clearly hes holding out for something better or he would have already joined. Also his dad wants him to play for jamaica but I doubt he really has any care for that as they arent much better than canada and personally id I had a choice between two similar nations id always choose the one that is truly my home.

Think hes holding out for US/England. Dont see england ever happening, especially if he leaves to germany. But i can quite easily see him being called up to USA which would be a right slap in my/canadas face.

Yeah read yesterday that he was off to QPR - I am guessing they have offered him a decent package.

I think Germany may have been a better destination for him, to try something new, but how many British players actually venture in to Europe anymore?

Ps - I realise that Hoilett isn't British, but still, there haven't been a lot recently. In fact, was Owen the last 'big' star to leave the UK for Europe? Apart from Cole on loan last season I can't think of anyone else..?

Surprised nobody bigger than QPR were seriously in for him, but get the feeling his numerous disinterested and lazy displays last season may have cost him a chance at a big club for the time being. If Hughes kicks Junior into shape and can actually teach him that there's an opposite to attacking - defending - he may get his move in a couple of years. If not he'll just drift.
