No Michu or Chico. Wigan could make this very interesting.

Swansea have been poor post-Wembley in all reality. I expect Wigan to win this one. Michu's out for the rest of the season probably.

After Wigan's loss to Swansea (which I did not expect) I re-did predictor and though I forecast Newcastle to lose both their remaining games, I predict Wigan to lose at Arsenal and only draw with Villa in their last game of the season. These outcomes would leave Wigan claiming that last relegation slot.
However, it really is all to play for in every single game remaining for Norwich, Sunderland,Newcastle,Wigan and indeed Southampton.

Far more interesting than at the other end of the table that's for sure.

Pardew for United... :P

He'll probably announce that he's excluding himself from the running, like he did when they were looking for a new England manager after Capello (as if he was ever likely to be under consideration!) Can't teach Alan anything about self promotion, he's done the course and got the diploma.

Pardew prides  himself on his Tactical Knowledge.
“For somebody who prides himself on tactical knowledge and the way I assemble teams, that’s been a major disappointment.”

Yep, he actually said that
I suppose on Planet Partridge, hoofball must equals "tactical knowledge".

Newcastle are virtually saved from relegation.

I wonder if Pardew can see out his 97856743219032 seasons contract?

I really hope they go down. Never had any ill feeling towards Pardew or Newcastle but one of my student housemates is a Newcastle fan from Northampton and is such an annoying prick about football that I now hate them. In a pragmatic sense, it would be better for the club if they stayed up - they've got the money to put in a tasty bid for Carroll and Pardew wants him, which would add some competition to West Hams interest in Andy.

mathematically they're not saved right but I can't see them not getting something from QPR and Wigan winning the last two games.

I think Wigan vs Villa means that Newcastle are safe, or something like that.

It does. Wigan can catch newcastle and in that scenario would have a better goal difference but that would come at the expense of Villa in the last game, which would then mean Villa having less points than Newcastle currently have.
Losing your only chance of silverware this season to your city rival. At home. With the most expensive squad ever assembled.

Pardew is a tit,
he'll blame anyone from the fans, to the owners, to the players or the ground staff before taking any himself.

watching their meltdown this season has been one of the seasons highlights.

What are they trying to achieve next season then? Pardew won't want to win a trophy as that will put them in the Europa League, and he won't want to finish too high in the league as that could also put them in the Europa League.

10th - 8th, sees it as a building process after a mixed dressing room, see some players come and see some players go.

That a good point, also finishing too high up in the league every season would mean that fatty would have to dig deep into his pockets and buy some decent players to keep us there.

He doesn't want to spend owt, does he.
Sounds to me like a comfortable 8th or 9th place finish would keep Ashley happy enough and still allow him to siphon off  a good wedge of the club's money into his back pocket whilst the other comedian at the club still pleads poverty and tells the Tyneside public how grateful they should be to Mike.

heard from a fairly reliable source that Newcastle are taking back Carroll, straight fee, no swap including Ben Arfa, or whatever else was talked about, shame really, but if he does go i'd much prefer cash than Ben Arfa.
