for £1,000,000?! (according to SSN) Even if he has a year left on his contract and has acknowledged his desire to peace out, he has to be worth a lot more than that.

Thank Purslow for that giving him a £1 million release clause in his contract.

Great man.Great player.Worked his heart off for us.Never a bad thing to say about this man.
Has scored in the biggest of games,UCL Chelsea,Milan,Arsenal. Also in the league-the excellent Man Utd hattrick, the goals against Arsenal,Chelsea,City. The goal in the CC final.
Exceptional player.

Thank you.
I'll be glad if we find a replacement that works half as hard.

A bit surprised he didn't end up in Germany or Italy, but Fener are a good club. He'll do well in Turkey.

Thanks for the memories Dirk, you were a true Liverpool warrior. Scored some of the club's most important goals of the last 20 years.

I'll miss those golden locks, YNWA Dirk Kuyt.

Love Dirk, wish him all the very best in the rest of his career. Gutted really, I was hoping Rodger's presumed style of play he's going to implement would suit Dirk down to the ground, works so well with maxi and suarez but i guess maxi will be off as well and maybe he couldn't see past Dirk's first touch.

All the best lad, you've been CLASS.

Nice one lad! Great man.

It was always inevitable we were not going to get a great amount of money for him considering his wages. Proved his worth though.
I think I may be turning gay. That back heel & through ball to Enrique made me jizz like Ive never jizzed before. My fiancee has got some serious work to do if she wants to get me as excited as I do about Coutinho.

Working-class hero.

Anyone delighted at this news should hang their heads. He has run his bollocks off for this club, scored some great and important goals and has never, ever hidden.

Good luck Dirk.

Really sad to see him leave but a correct decision.

To let him go for a nominal fee rather than haggle over every pound is the right thing to do to get HIM the move HE wants.

He's been a top notch player for us and we owe him that.

Thank you Dirk. Absolutely huge player for us in the past five years, been involved in some incredible moments and scored some vital goals. I will always remember you for your penalty to send us to the Champions League final in Athens, and for all the industry and heart you put into your performances. I'm sure he departs the club with some amazing memories and he will always be remembered fondly.

Right time for him to move I feel - he's no longer a first team regular, not getting any younger and on big wages. His best days are behind him and we got five great years out of him.

Good luck Dirk. A great man and a very good player for Liverpool Football Club. Will always be an honorary Scouser.

This came on very, very quick. Bye Dirk! Thanks for the important goals and all the relentless running! Extraordinary team player, and a great servant to the club.
