Ah, I'm gutted even though I saw it coming, but best for both parties I suppose.

Always gave 100% and knew what it meant to play for the club.

Good luck and thank you Dirk! YNWA

Ah fuck, that just looks wrong. Feels similar to when Sami left. Both more or less scousers before they left.

Shame we couldn't give him a Sami-like farewell.
Thanks for everything Duracell Dirk.

So glad he finally got a winners medal to show for his time here.

(if you don't count the Charity Shield of course)

YNWA Dirk.  Very sad to see him go but it is for the best I must admit.

Always gave us 100%.

Will miss him.

Best of luck to him and his family with the move, I'll be cheering him on at the euros.

Wondering did Kuyt talk to Rodgers first ?

Doesn't fit it to Rodgers style of football plus if no player wants to part of the'project'' then they will be let go I am sure.

gutted he's leaving, but it's probably the right time (assuming he's adequately replaced of course).

certainly wouldn't be the first member of the squad i'd let go though.

He's been a great signing for us and has given the club six terrific years' service. Glad he finally got a winner's medal this season. Sorry to see him go but given his age and wages it is probably the right time. Good luck in Turkey Dirky.... :P

Not necessarily. Cecil inserted a £1m buyout clause in Kuyt's contract, allegedly. Means that once someone stumps us the dough that Derek can leave if he wants to. To be honest, if you read the official statement it reads that way...

Oh, there I thought he would be good in Rodgers' playing style of pressing players.

You are right there, but then there is the big flip side of his ability with the ball. Right time to go, if ever there was a time - an ironic confluence with the appointment of a manager with a possession-based philosophy.

He brought us many great memories. Wish him all the best. Hopefully he is successful there.

I'm also a Fenerbahce fan and from what the officials say, it's been 4 months since they first contacted Kuyt. So I'm guessing yes

All we have to do replace him with fellow Dutch international Affellay being sold by Barca for a small fee and it will look like great business

Yes but Kuyt would have to agree to the deal.

Kuyt gave a statement after Dalglish left saying his preference was to stay at LFC and with a new manager he would see if he is in his plans.

Clearly he isn't!

A part of me is gutted, the other one agrees that it was time for him. Though I wished he would have gone to the Bundesliga or Serie A, still has enough to offer imo.

Good luck Dirk. It's a shame you got only one medal to show for everything you did for us.
