It's gut wrenching that he's no longer a part of our set-up. Not to say I'm not looking forward to Rodgers, I'm enthusiastic about what he can bring as a manager and optimistic about our future.

But Dalglish is such a legend, his smiles and his celebrations. I really, really hope he returns in some capacity.

The way he phrased that fills my heart with sadness. "everyone at LFC" - almost written as if he's not a part of it. The man is LFC incarnate.

You will always be a hero to all of us Kenny.

Complete class, from a different generation to today's football society. Total and utter legend - that is an understatement.

There should be a role for him at the club, if not make one. Sad that he is not building our future. Lowest league finish yes, but we did win the Carling cup. There were no complaints that day were they? Nope.

I'll admit to having mixed feelings about Kenny coming back and being sacked etc but there's nothing better than that smile when we score, fantastic, so human, so self deprecating, an absolute star of a man!

I miss Kenny, to wait so long and get him for so short a time is heart breaking.
He really deserved better.
No way will he be back at the club until Rodgers has established himself, and doesn't need to worry about the huge shadow Kenny will always cast over Liverpool FC.
When Rafa brought him back, he was a legend himself, so he could embrace Kenny without fear.
Rodgers is going to have to go some to get there. Lets hope he does, and quickly, so I can see Kenny celebrate when we win the title again.

I know mate but the fact of the matter is it was the worst finish in the top flight since we got there. Very bad especially when you consider the money spent etc etc, same old crap. He was the manager at the end of the day and the one who had to take responsibility.

I feel sooooo bad for him though. He must miss it so so much, he loves the club.

Well done and thank you Kenny, class really.

If Rodgers has a similar season do you expect him to be sacked?
Where once we watched the King Kenny play, and could he play.

I think he'll get more time myself. Rodgers is FSG's man, Kenny wasn't. I think it would take a relegation threatened campaign or a bottom half finish for them to consider sacking him.

Its the measure of the man that nobody is surprised by his text, he personifies this club its integrity and class and everything it used to stand for, and just to clear up one comment made , maybe if we said Kenny is one of an elite few of all time legends on a level with Bill and Bob and just above the other legends!

Kenny is and always has been a class act and a true Liverpool legend! Brendan Rodgers has himself shown a lot of class from the moment he stepped through the door at Anfield. Only time will tell if he will become one of our legends too!

I have a very good feeling he will!  ;)
I wish united would hurry up and win more European cups than us. Perhaps then the F.A will stop all their shit decisions against us to keep us out of the top four!!

Such comments from Kenny are only to be expected, too many people, opposition fans and the media alike have no idea what the 'real' Kenny is like.

Some of these people didn't get Kenny's wry sense of humour or took his tounge in cheek comments seriously/personally.

The people that really matter know better.

Legendary status nailed on forever.

As Kenny has always said ... the club is bigger than any individual.  It will have hurt him having to leave the manager's seat, but he will still be Liverpool's biggest and most enthusiatic fan.  He'll be hoping Brendan succeeds just as much as the next red.  Kenny doesn't do bitter (except towards the press)

I don't think he has any gripe. He was backed with a long contract and money, but we still went backwards so you can understand the owners decision. Kenny will understand that better than anyone, as like us, he wants the best for the club, hence his tweet for Rodgers.

"went backwards" ?............... did you see Roy's football?
did you see some of the games last season when we dominated and created a vast amount of chances which many should have been taken.
Did you see the woodwork shaking after every game?
I wasn't unhappy with the majority of football we played last season, just the results.
Two cup finals and one trophy to show.
You make me sick.
Kenny is a legend and came back to help. He should have had another year but went backwards??????????????????????????????? Fuck off!!
