Welcome to Rodgers then. I had my doubts and concerns, but I will be more than happy to see him succeed and bring us back where we should be.

Welcome to Liverpool Brendan. Speaks very powerfully, eloquently and assertively but what stands out is the way he speaks of fighting for the club's principles, the city and talks of a philosophy with tactical discipline, he has visions for the club going forward and there is no expectation-dampening which was the norm under OwlFace at every press conference. Actions speak louder than words but good stuff so far.

Has said exactly what was needed today, especially the .tv interview. He talks very highly of the club & city which is something you need to understand before you even attempt to manage this team.

I was happy with this appointment anyway - but even more so now. I cannot wait to see this pan out, but he will need time & support. I personally will give him that.

If he can make the players do the same, we'd be going places. We've lacked that will to win since Rafa's last season.

Swansea were already playing this style when he was appointed to be honest. The philosophy started by Martinez at Swansea has carried through to the present day.

Rodgers just improved upon and maintained it.

Good solid interview, said the right stuff, liked how he cut in on Ayre to assert he wouldn't work under a dictator, good stuff.

All just words though at the minute though; this summer will give us a better indication of what his and FSG's plans for the future are, based on signings and players sold.

It'll be interesting to see what he does during his first season. If he gets it right, this appointment could work out very well considering the expected style of football and the fact that his age could allow him to be here a long time. We just need to back him and try and enjoy it.

I thought he came across very well in his press conference and .tv interview.
