Not worried at all - we have got Joe 'Messi' Cole  8)
Would love the 19th; but would love even more to see a fan owned LFC.

Eh?! What?!

What happened to my optimism.
SSN understands.....

I think that's he's got a decision to make.

The money or the manager who trusts him.

He's clearly going to make the decision in the next day or two (as his dad said).

Skaka reckons hes decided to come to us, most other people are saying spurs.....

We will see!

Oh I thought someone meant Sky were confirming he had signed for Spurs.

So the situation 'officially' the same as it was yesterday - apart from Skaka's new information. Which I hope is true.

Sigurdsson has agreed terms with Spurs and passed a medical according to SSN.

Like I said earlier in this thread, just announce it. If he's gone there fair enough, we'll move on.

it's that mentality that has got us in this situation in the first place, if he's our no.1 target then we should be going for him with money to match the likes of spurs.. he's asking for 70k i think the latest i've seen on twitter, can you blame him when the likes of henderson is on 60k a week?

Other clubs aren't signing a player who's out on loan to another club until July 1st.

There isn't a set way to conduct a transfer mate. Tottenham may want to do it a different way.

It's the master plan. It's also why they haven't signed a manager yet. They're gonna have a spy in Rodgers' training and tactics sessions and just relay that to their players as well.

I'll be glad if he signs for us and but I won't lose any sleep should he go to Spurs. If he doesn't want to play for Liverpool then I don't want him here.

The transfer window is going to be open for a long time and I'm very confident we will find a player with at least similar level of ability than Sigurdsson.

No, because even the reliable journos like Tony Barrett and Ben Smith are even saying he is more likely to be joining spurs now thats why. Infact every man and his dogs seems to be saying hes joining spurs apart from Skaka on here who said he's joining us but, cant tell us anymore then that. Now I hope they're all wrong and Skaka is right but, its not looking likely at the moment.

We shouldn't get into a wages auction for him. He was prepared to sign for Swansea and Rodgers for 25-30k a week.

Now he is seemingly auctioning himself between us and Spurs. We will be offering him a lot more than 25k a week and the upside at Liverpool financially is more than Spurs if he is successful. If he wants to go to the highest bidder now - good luck to him, he is not the right player for us.

We want lads who want to come and play here and if he would go to Swansea with Rodgers then why not Liverpool ?

Could be the Utd connection. Probably thinking the only way he'll join us and give up his chance of one day playing for the Mancs is if we match Tottenhams offer. If thats the case then feck him.

I don't know what's dumber, signing players when you have no manager, or taking personnel advice from a prospective manager that hasn't signed the dotted line yet.

I find it strange that a player who said he wanted to play for rogers is doing this, but that being said these twats make more in a week than I do in a year and think bleached highlights and hair transplants are acceptable in life, so they probably are above such things as loyalty.

We knew he'd agreed terms with Spurs, and we knew he was going for a medical because Ben Smith said so. It's possible he could still be tempted to come here if we raised our offer, but I doubt it.

Doubt that has anything to do with that. These days it's all about money and as soon as players get the chance of a salary bump they will jump ship. This is demonstrated pretty well in the current Rangers saga, where players instead of sticking with the new Rangers club and get a transfer fee for them, prefer to cancel their contracts and get a nice signing up fee with a different club.
We've dodged a bullet on this one. Similar fees, different degrees.

Ok, so last season, one of our main (sky sports understands) target prefers to go to Utd.  Fair enough, they are a big (sudden coughing fit...) club.

This season, our only (?) main target seems to prefer (according to sky sports and its minions) going to Tottingham... for a 10k/week difference????

What next, Downing decides to leave and play for West Ham???  We can all wish...

That's slightly different, the new Ranger club will be playing in the 1st or 3rd division, I could understand every player leaving as they would have gone from playing in a title contender side, so a side playing in the lower leagues.

1) None of us really know whats goin through Gylfis head. Were just speculating.

2) Cant say I blame the Rangers players for wanting to leave to be honest. They've got one shot with their careers, so why waste it playing in the lower leagues when they could and should be playing at a higher level? Afterall none of the shit thats goin on at Rangers is their fault. I think they all did their bit by taking pay-cuts and goin weeks on end without wages anyway to be honest.
