Are we that rich in talent that we can turn our nose at a decent prospect?

In that position I think yes, we should turn our noses up at it.

Gerrard, Aquilani, Henderson, Shelvey, Suso etc.

Rather spent the money on a top striker and improving our wide players.

Watched Joe Allen and Gylfi a bit both good players. Allen is quite good at nicking the ball and driving the ball forward. Decent passer but may lack in end product. Gylfi makes up for that as he complements Allen's qualities in end product. Visa versa really and smart on Rodgers part. I think Rodgers could get something out of Henderson tho in time. However can still see him adding to the squad a more creative young player. I see Henderson a more box to box player. Who knows just opinion. Would not mind one of them because it worked for him.

Even though we agreed not to sign any Swansea players for 12 months I'd say once another club bids this summer we are then entitled to bid ?

I don't want any Swansea players other than Sigurdson who isn't even their player. Maybe Sinclair on the cheap but that's it.

Gerrard- will miss alot of games through injury
Aquilani- does not want to move back to the UK, would prefer to stay in Italy
Suso- not even made his debut yet, hardly someone we can rely on

Too much made of that. If the manager wants him here and wants to play him, then he will be here and he will play.

That doesn't make any sense. They don't want us putting bids for their players so why would another team's interest all of a sudden allow us to submit an offer?

Because if that player was going to be sold anyway, why not sell him to us? It'll only be a gentlemans agreement anyway.

I'd say this is key, it wouldn't suprise me if we agreed not to place first bids on any of their players, using 'insider knowledge' if you will. But if another club bids then I'm sure it would be different.

It doesn't sound like an informal agreement to me:

The clause was included in the compensation agreement finalised last night between the two clubs following the departure of manager Brendan Rodgers from the Liberty Stadium to Anfield.

Any agreement with Swansea re: "raiding" their roster surely wouldn't apply to Sigurdsson? Is he not a Hoffenheim player? Wouldn't be buying him from Swans anyway. I could be wrong, mind.

I'd take Joe Allen for sure. Think he will end up being a top player and the sort of guy Utd will snap up and he'll be there for 10 plus years.

If true, but disappointed we'll miss out on him, but good on Rodgers.  I like him even more.  Then again, this could just mean we have higher ambitions. ;D

Stranger things have happened. Undervalued player at club is undervalued.

I bet some Italian football fans were saying that when we loaned out Aquilani to whoever would take him, then looked over at our first XI team sheet confused at who Spearing and Adam were.

Means nothing that.

If he doesn't want to sign then he won't.

The if we want him we can say he didn't want to sign for Swansea - so we made an offer.

Jermaine Jones?  Watching him play regularly for the USA, he doesn't run intelligently IMO.  I think if we're looking at cover for DM and LB and we're going Bundesliga, Fabian Johnson plays at Hoffenheim/LB for USA and has been impressive since Jurgen drafted him in.

yes lucas is better but he would be great playing next to lucas ....2 minds thinking on the same wavelenght and all that....plus denisov used to be a winger for russia so would not be fazed by getting forward.

the midfield would be fking awesome.

If you want someone good at going forward just bring back Aquilani, 10x more talented than Denisov and is already our player.

In that position I think yes, we should turn our noses up at it.

Gerrard, Aquilani, Henderson, Shelvey, Suso etc.

One player perennially injured, one player the club (unjustifiably) doesn't seem to rate, and three younger lads?

I really don't know what the objectives of Liverpool are supposed to be. Is it top four? In which case, is that a better midfield than any of our main competitors? Is it to develop these young players? Are we just some kind of Arsenal 2.0, utterly afraid of diminishing the opportunities of our youth?

71 games next year, and people are terrified of fucking rotation.
Believes in Brendan.

Lars Bender would be a great signing and is gettable.

Sven Bender would be a great signing and isn't gettable.

If you're talking about Jermaine Jones, then no thanks.
I'm really hoping Sturridge busts out the wacky dip when he scores.

This still doesnt make sense to me, if Swansea are willing to sell there players to other clubs then why wouldn't they sell to us? I find it bizarre sorry, I mean it doesn't matter where they end up, there leaving anyway, if we out bidded another club they would be stupid not to take the higher offer, what would they turn down an extra 2mil just because its us? I only want Sigurdsson anyway, hes quality and a huge upgrade on Adam, and he doesnt even belong to Swansea, as for the rest no way, theres much better players out there we should be going for..
