L'Équipe and Eurosport both claim Eden Hazard is close to agreeing a €40m Chelsea move complete with a 5-year contract on €126,900 per week.

Yeah. Spot on. We spent more than that on Andy Carroll. The wages wouldn't have been a problem either given that is what we pay Stevie and chances are that is the calibre of player we are looking at with Hazard.

Was a bit lazy with the exchange rate but yeah seems like according to current rates, 126k EUR is about 101k GBP. That all things considered is like you've pointed out not the steepest.

Seems a world class talent, if a bit of a bell. Still would've loved to get him. Quality player, he'll do well for them. But he was all about this thing where he wanted to play his beloved #10 role. Mata plays that at Chelsea, so one of them is going to get shafted out to the wing.

I have no doubt he'll be a great player for Chelsea though. Has the arrogance of a top player without the show pony attitude on the pitch, outstanding player. I won't be disappointed if we have to settle for Kagawa though.

That does look spectacularly tasty especially considering they would be playing behind Torres and the style of play of these guys will suit him a lot more as well. They are doing some good business at least on paper.

I am not pissed about Chelsea getting Hazard. We never stood a chance to be honest. What I'm pissed about is Swansea signing Sigurdsson for £6.8 Million. We could have really done with a player like him in our team.
