Lightweight? I don't think so

I see what the other poster means. Lukaku has relied/ benefited from his unique physique for such a young person to excel at youth level & scoring record for a young player in the Belgium league, it probably has hid any faults in his game. In England it is not such an advantage & these faults are exposed. Not saying he wont make it as talented & very young but 20 million Chelsea paid is some risk.

Heskey is similarly built, yet spends as much time on the ground as he does on his feet. Carroll as well has only recently started using his body strength for us
Fair point. But then he's only had 8 sub appearances in the league, so he's not really been given much of a chance

Hazard isn't even lightweight, and the way he shields the ball is similar to Aguero.

This. But i compared him to a weaker Suarez.

Indeed, he didn't have a good debut. Almost nothing came off.

The match also highlighted my doubts about Chelsea's midfield. Mikel, Lampard and Essien aren't top quality. Got bossed by ManCity throughout the game.

Essien wasn't even in the squad. Oscar's just come in, may be questions as to whether he will settle straight away, but he's a class player and will improve that midfield. Ramires is also quality.

Mikel is pretty average though.

Essien wasn't even in the squad. Oscar's just come in, may be questions as to whether he will settle straight away, but he's a class player and will improve that midfield. Ramires is also quality.

Mikel is pretty average though.

Then he did tremendously well to get on the bench. Gotta love that fighting spirit.

I know that Essien didn't play, but I just listed their options for midfield: Lampard, Mikel, Essien. Oh and I forgot about Meireles. Not sure if Ramires is a central/defensive midfielder anymore. IMO, their options in midfield is at best average.

PS I don't think Oscar is a midfielder either. He is as much midfielder as is Mata, it seems, and I would say he is one of the attacking group of players.
