Here's a question - this week I've done 2 interviews - one, a very indepth, quite tactical interview with Barnes that ran to 5,000 words and another, fans twitter-led interview with Henchoz that ran to over 3,000 words.

Do you enjoy these longer, more indepth interviews and would you like to see more of this kind of thing on the official site?

I've really enjoyed both. Something a bit more substantial goes well with a cup of coffee. Appreciate it's a lot more work to transcribe and write up, but it's well worth it when you get views which aren't being so restricted by space constraints.

Do they think we are that idiotic that we are going to accept a third rate manager.

As Liverpool fans, I expect that once a manager is appointed, no matter who it may be, that you accept the fact that that person is manager, support him, and stop bitching about him, because he will have done nothing wrong to deserve otherwise.

Why? Is it not the most topical question you'd expect a fan to ask a former player?

Is it the question or the answer you don't like?

A Liverpool Football board appoints a manager then quite clearly they know more about the situation than we do and they deserve our trust. Five Clueless Yanks in Henry, Werner, Ginsberg, Vinik and Gordon plus a snake oil salesman in Ayre and a CFO Nash both appointed to the board under the tenure of Hicks and Gillet not in a million years mate.

Anyone daft enough to work for those idiots needs sympathy not support. Martinez won't get my support but I will pass on the number of the Samaritans if he is soft enough to go to work for a bunch of clowns who sack a manager who gets to two finals in his first full season.

One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

I'd prefer it if you kept to the official site instead of coming on unofficial sites trying to drum up hits with your agenda-led pieces - or can you fit in yet another 'support and believe' banner in your next piece?

We know where the official site is - and if we need to read any PR-driven spiel from yourself we can click on lfc.tv ourselves.

I'm losing more and more confidence in the new owners every day. The number of parallels to the previous owners grows every day. At the risk of sounding xenophobic, fuck the American business model, I hate what they are doing to our club.

The new owners are looking just as two-faced and backstabbing as the old. They are on their way to having told as many lies. They feed us this dribble and expect us to think it is acceptable behavior.

Whoever their advisors are, I'd like to punch them in the face.

It really just feels pointless. If this all continued, and we went back to war, we would probably just end up with someone even worse again. Our club is dieing from the inside for years now and there's very little we can do about it.

Or maybe I'm just being melodramatic...

I'm very interested to know who are the "experts" that, according to Ayre's bleatings recently are advising FSG.

On present form,I'm guessing Steve Kean,Ann Widdecombe and Bill Kenwright.
Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns
"Come in", She said, "I'll give you shelter from the storm"

I wish.

So Martinez wouldn't get your support and you call yourself a liverpool supporter.

I have to agree with you on this, we all have opinions on who should be manager, but once the desicion is made we need to stop the bitching and get behind the new man in charge, if the support isn't united behind the manager the media etc will have a field day and the club will never move forward.
Liverpool players must play like a lion, give his all. There must be determination, commitment and resolve to be a Liverpool player.

I liked the interview with Barnes tremendously, Paul. It was one of the few best articles that I ever read on the offy. It was a chance to get "free" insight into a manager's mind- one of our own and very best, and it was fascinating.

Just hope you can top that ;)

Are you going to do another live phone in with the owners.

So we can get some answers to what the hell is going on.

I can't imagine either LFCtv or the owners would fall into that trap again.

When Hodgson was manager they were innundated with question after question about why he had been appointed, hadn't been sacked etc.  The interview was shortened because they went to  a 'previous engagements' but even so it was enough to make them feel uncomfortable I would imagine and to teach them that as fans we do not stand on ceremony.
