What's going to happen with lfcshaunod's team?  He's two picks behind now and hasn't been logged on for a week...

What's going to happen with lfcshaunod's team?  He's two picks behind now and hasn't been logged on for a week...

If it gets to the end and he still hasn't logged on then I'll pick the two remaining places and fill it up as best I can.

Also, once people's teams are finished, if you haven't already done so, can you stick the lineups in here so I can copy and paste them into the matches thread once we're all done? Cheers.

My final eleven. Pretty, pretty happy with that. Full of creative pass and move players, two attacking wingbacks who can provide great crosses and a daft amount of goals from midfield, along with a very well balanced back 3/5. That's before we even get to my strike partnership!

Spink

Hughes       McGrath       Ratcliffe

Nicol                        Bell                          Baines

Hoddle                     Kennedy

Shearer        Sheringham

Here's my final XI. I managed to get England's back four that performed so well at Italia 90, a decent midfield and two deadly strikers. All in all, I'm pretty happy with this side:

Gordon Banks

Paul Parker   Mark Wright   Des Walker   Stuart Pearce

             Neil Lennon

Steve Coppell           Gary McAllister             Ryan Giggs

         John Aldridge    Gary Lineker

My team:

Joe Hart

Jimmy Nicholl        Billy McNeill        David Narey        Steve Staunton

Ray Houghton        Paul Ince        Bryan Robson        Peter Thompson

Stan Mortensen        Ivor Allchurch
"My coach told me to warm up just before the break. He told me I was going to take care of Kaka. I didn't think it was possible to turn things around but in the dressing room at halftime Rafa Benitez was calm - "We are Liverpool FC, we have so many fans, we are not going to be slaughtered. If we can score a goal quickly we push on from there.""

Mate, if I had been given a pound for every time a woman had said that to me... Well, I'd have at least a fiver. Putting all that aside, I'm sitting in bed preparing to go on a three-hour drive (the thought of which is hugely depressing); this is the result of finding any excuse to not get in the car.

Thank you for your kind words though :)

Interesting strategies being employed here:

Dan is aiming for the Mancunian vote
King Luis clearly has the silver surgers in mind
Lady Brandybuck has targeted all sane, sensible posters

Just a question of which there are the most of on here - probably Mancs to be honest!

Only 2 more selections to go (well 3 including lfcshaunod). Draw for the knock-outs coming soon. Also make sure you get your final XIs and whatnot in this thread, please.

Finally got round to doing the draw (although there are still one or two picks remaining and teams to be posted). Will start the appropriate thread once all teams are picked and all formations, etc, have been posted in here.

The draw is in a 'Wimbledon' style, ie the winner of match one will play the winner of match two in the quarter final, the winner of match three will play match four likewise, with the winners of 1v2 and 3v4 meeting in the semi-final. The process is naturally mirrored for matches five through to eight on the other side of the draw, with the last two standing going into the final.

1. Jersey Kopite v Maximus
2. Adeemo v El Campeador
3. Lfsea v Lethal
4. Haemoglobin v Steven LFC
5. shaunodlfc v El Capitan
6. Hazell v blurred
7. KingLuis 05 v Saint Kopite
8. AnyGivenSunday v Lady Brandybuck
