Ha, thats a fair point. A hammock laid out in the Anfield dugout etc. Lets make this happen.

we could get him one of those jim'll fix it reclining chairs complete with drink and cigar dispenser, maybe even a laptop so he can post twitter updates or peruse his facebook account at his leisure while twatting and giving the mancs a footballing lesson again becomes to boring to watch.

He's gonna chill for a good few years, until maybe Fergusson resigns. I don't see why his name is bandied about. He's not interested. God all fucking mighty give it a rest.

For the people saying the big players wont play for Martinez. Look at last season, Not many players in that red shirt exactly tore there heart out to play for dalglish. The first half of the FA cup final summed it up for me, non of those players looked like they gave a damn. That was the worrying thing for me, we looked like we were in a rut with no real direction.

Not overnight but I'm sure in time he would build a damn good side.
Agree its just unlike Barca players our midfielders didnt spend their entire life focussing on keeping possesion, triangles etc. , they are far more direct. Its not engrained in them as in Barca`s players.

The only evidence of anything so far is that Martinez is under consideration and that's because of Whelan and his big fat gob.

Because the guy is a Liverpool legend, and all the things that has made this club so unique is bit by bit being taken away.  We will soon be just another souless money making sporting institution. Sadly who ever the new manager is, to me it will never be the same again, and I'm sorry but you just don't sack someone like Kenny Dalglish, it is just a crying shame this whole business.

People seem to be of the opinion that getting Guardiola would be amazing, and of course we all know how supremely successful he was at Barca. In no way am I rubbishing his accomplishments but the truth is that any squad that contained Xavi, Iniesta and Messi is likely to be one of europes best and they would walk into any team.

However, does the fact that Guardiola did a great job at Barcelona automatically mean he could turn LFC into champions league and title contenders? Coaching Lionel Messi and Xavi is one thing, coaching Andy Carroll and Jay Spearing is another. I guess what I'm saying is, it would be unreasonable to assume that because Guardiola did so well at Barca that he would automatically translate the same style of play and coaching methods to LFC. It's just not that simple.

If Guardiola came to Liverpool and we finished 5th or 6th, would people still respect him the way they do now?

How does Capello fit in with the criteria of a young, up and coming manager who plays a style similar to that played at the academy? Makes no sense at all. Unless they're just doing it to *appear* to target top class managers, to appease the fans. In which case they think we're stupid.
