I and know plenty that don't. So there !
I think by the sounds of it they are splitting that idea. Segura: identifying talent; General manager type: doing all the deals.
He's not defining the roles. He's the one that shed some light on the new structure.
Never mind er the Boot Room. I want to know whose boot that is in your avatar so I can bang her back door in. (In my mind of course).
Oh right, still don't think he's qualified to do it, but it just shows what a mess the club is in.
Aye. We'd be fucking stupid to have a position of strength at the club.More FSG and their fucking Peter Principle, supplemented by the experience and magnetism of Bobby fuckin' Martinez.
Haha, I wasn't being a smart arse. Just wondered what more senior duties meant in general. Just seems like it could be a whole host of things to me. Very vague.
So now the owners don't want a DOF...Couldn't make this up.
In Holland, they don't say they are developing players - they say they are developing future coaches.
people these days have no patience,
reading all these coments calling fsg clueless, have no-idea what they're doing, is embarrassinggive them time ffs, people these days have no patience, they will sort this club out
Gomes flapping at a ball looks like a sealion trying to have a wank!
Tony Barrett:Although Ayre stopped short of defining the disparate roles or identifying the individuals who will fill them, it is understood that Pep Segura, the technical director at the club’s academy, is likely to be promoted to a similar role with the first team. A direct replacement for Damien Comolli as director of football is no longer being sought, but FSG is in the final stages of filling a general manager-style position.
Wigan in the premier league:Before Martinez:2005/6: 10th2006/7: 17th2007/8: 14th2008/9: 11thWith Martinez2009/10: 16th2010/11: 15th2011/12: 15thI'm not drawing any conclusions from this, but after 3 years he's reduced their average finishing position in the league.
JWH is getting twatted on twitter over Martinez. Not saying he will be arsed by it, just cant say the warnings werent there if he flops and Anfield becomes a church.
That sounds like Segura taking up a merged role, which might not be that bad a thing. New manager has a little more power. Academy has more of a link with first team.
Could be interesting.
I'm not entirely sure that's what Segura does at youth level though. Segura is basically responsible for the coaching set up at the academy level. All things at academy are done to his program. Him being promoted would suggest he's been given a similar responsibility for the first team IMHO.
Ferguson has probably told Moyes that he will be his recommendation to take over.
That's too much to take on mate.
I thought that Twiggy fella from Barcelona was going to be the new DOF?
