Rafa flying to Boston for interview alongside Martinez and Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas.
It's Rafa's to lose! How does he answer some duff purchases, alienating Alonso, and the Mr Alex Ferguson rant? Not forgetting a reputation for taking on the Owners. But nevertheless, a great track record and already a man with a lot of support amongst the fan base.
His greatest asset may well be his eye for detail, which will impress the yanks. C'mon Rafa, some unfinished business the best way to beat Mr Alex Ferguson is on the park.

Why aren't these poeple flying over here? Not JH or TW, but at least people to interview

I like Martinez but I REALLY don't want him as our manager!

I want a big name but to be honest whoever is mentioned, no one really stands out for me.  Even Rafa, I loved the bloke and was gutted when he went but I don't know if it's a good idea or not!?

I want someone whose managed at a high level not scraped relegation survival every year.

Steve Bruce finished 11th and 14th with Wigan Martinez finished 16th,16th and 15th you think we should sign a manager who did worse than Steve Fucking Bruce at the same Club.

Honestly, not once have I fucking said we should hire him. Just that i'd be willing to back him if he was the manager and that people should give him some respect for what hes achieved at a small club like Wigan.

Anyway im out of here to leave you lot to continue with your hysterics about a man who probably wont even end up managing us in the end anyway.

I really suprised that good ole arry hasn't thrown his hat in the ring, he usually does when people are transferred linked to other clubs, then does a stupid sly sport interview form the car window about how close he was but hey next time

Why can some people not look beyond where his side finished? If you (not you specifically, Al) can't see that Roberto Martinez is a far, far better manager than Steve Bruce well then I'm glad you're not involved in the search. The fact is we need to identify how a manager's style would fit at OUR club, not his previous one. Guys like Hodgson, Bruce, and O'Neill are perfect for a certain type of club. In fact, I think all of them are probably better suited to Wigan than Martinez. That doesn't make them better suited to Liverpool.

Of course it would be a gamble and at the risk of repeating myself over and over again he wouldn't be my first choice, that would be Rafa. But someone took a chance on Klopp, Pep, Conte etc.. and it worked out quite well for them didn't it?

Sometimes you have to be brave, bold and take a few risks in life to get were you want to be.

In a normal world I would possibly agree. But we have just sacked 3 managers in two years. Surely it makes sense now to try someone proven.

Anyone see the quotes from Whelan?

"It's all up to Liverpool and Roberto now," added Whelan. "If they do a deal I hope it's done quickly because we will have to replace Roberto and it's going to be very difficult.

"The Liverpool hierarchy is non-existent at present We played there about three months ago and there was not one soul in the boardroom.

"There doesn't seem to be any heart in the club. I was a little disturbed because to me Liverpool is one of the great football clubs.

"There's no heart beating in the club. You've got to put the heart in Liverpool."

Fucking hell. Get yourselves together FSG.

Really puts it in perspective, I think Martinez being a bit of a media favourite has had a huge influence on some peoples opinions of him, whether they like to admit it or not.

Fuck me I give up on you. Yes your right, Wigan should be up there pushing for CL places, because afterall hes been at the club for more then three years and thats more the do'able on football manager.

Your talking waffle just because he's been linked to us. After three years at the club how has he moved the club forwards exactly? Have I even mentioned champs league spot or are you just making stuff up.
