Pretty much, although I'd put the experience of Rafa and Bielsa over the other two geniuses.
Any of the 4 would be class, but I'd just prefer the Rafa knowledge and successes at Liverpool over everything else ATM.

Yeah same I think. The order I've put them in there: Rafa, Klopp, Bielsa, Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas, is probably my order of preference. I doubt we'd get Klopp though. I just really, really don't want someone like Martinez.

Personally, I'm waiting to see who the owners appoint before slagging them off.

A bloke I work with is in Boston and is a red sox supporter.

"These guys are businessmen at heart, but Henry gets baseball he is interested in it, buying Liverpool was adding to his portfolio he has a big Ego.
We won nothing for 86 years, he came in  and we won 2 in 3 years after he re-set the structure of the club. He wants results, he sacked our coach who was be-loved Terry Francona He was axed last year after the team invested over $300 M in two players and did not make the playoffs - ruthless and an ego the size of Texas but i would not play cards with the mutha"

Nice !

They listened to the fans last time and look whats happened, I doubt they will be pushed to do the same thing all over again.

I think we can be pretty sure it isn't going to be Rafa, no matter what.

Like it or not, it seems FSG came in with a plan to install their own system at LFC.  That plan got sidetracked for a season because of sentiment over Kenny "leading us back."  I doubt they're going to pass up the opportunity to put that system in place in favor of bringing back another former manager who would, of necessity, insist on his own system instead.  The only way that could happen is if Rafa's system just happened to be the same as FSG's...but, in that case, I think you would have seen Kenny moved upstairs and Rafa brought in under him at the end of last season, since just about the only way to satisfy the "keep the King on" sentiment among fans at the time would have been to bring in another beloved former manager to take the reins.

To my mind, the only way they bring Rafa in is if they've despaired of their initial plans to remake LFC in their image of what would be an ideal club, and decided to let someone else (re)install their vision instead.

I can understand people’s hurt and emotional reaction. Even if a lot of it is embarrassing in its content.

But there were many of us who didnt want Kenny to take the job for fear of exactly this happening. It was just too much of an ask, many felt, and so it has turned out. You cannot buy the players Kenny has (who have done fuck all to repay him by the way) and survive when results have been as poor as they have been.

As much as this hurts me to see him go, to the hear words “sacked”; I think ultimately it was inevitable that he would have to go, having had such a poor season.

But I tell you this, them fucking players need to have a long hard look at themselves. Some of them are utter shithouses and need fucking off today! They’ve let us, the club and Kenny down and all those letting off at the owners need to have a fucking look at the likes of Downing before attacking them.

Sad day.

Why? There are a lot of people who are really pissed off and upset that a legend like Kenny has been sacked unceremoniously.

Because nobody has fucking died today? Being an admin doesn't make you exempt from posting shite.

Didn't they sack Mark Hughes after what was it a single season ?
Hughes wasn't their man. Already in the hotseat when they arrived.

You know what, i have just got home, sky news "liverpool sack kenny dalglish", well fuck me sideways, Shankly will be turning in his grave, fucking disgrace, you know all you fans every match thread "im not having a go at kenny but he should go" well you have go what you wanted, hope your all fucking happy. Do you understand really whats just happened? Liverpool way my arse, there is no liverpool way anyway, this clubs finished. Finished. You can cry about "its the auld arses need to move on", " moneyball" (which is a c*nt of a word), "sky sports fans" stick it all up your arse.
This man, yes this man has just been sacked, after getting to two cup finals in his first season TWO FUCKING CUP FINALS, there is no hope for any more managers. TIME YOU NEED TO GIVE PEOPLE TIME, and if you can't give a legend who gets to two finals in his first full season time, your fucked, fucked as a club.

We stood apart from the rest of the world, for our ways, our banter, our respect, our loyalty. We thats all gone, all of it. So what does the new manger have to do now, well i'll tell you what, he has to win every game, 5 games in yes 5 games in i will put my life on it you twats (you know who your are) will be calling for his head.

The same man you all wanted knighting, if this club even offer him a job on the coaching staff or as a steward, director of football whatever he should tell them to stick it up their arse, their is only so much one man can give, and this man gave our club everything.

I see Rafa's name being mentioned, eh , fucking great, lets take him down with us as well, If that man had any sense he'd be on a plane to get a million miles away from our club.

So in ten years time when our 8th manager in ten years comes in, will you all be smiling then eh?

I'm finished with this shit. This isnt the club i was brought up around.

That's like standing at the side of the road after your parents have been killed in a car crash and getting excited about who your foster parents might be...

No, it isn't. Even if it was, if you could deal with grief that well, then great, then you're a lucky person. But it isn't like that simply becasue the magnitude of the events is difference. Kenny going is upsetting for sure, but it's not an all-consuming upset that has taken over my mind completely like the death of both parents would be. I'm able to regret the past and embrace the future at the same time.
"When you play Stoke you always hope for a strong ref, someone who will try and clamp down on the persistent fouling and allow the better players on the pitch to actually play some footy.  We got Kevin Friend, an official so inept, I am surprised he managed to turn up at the right ground."

FSG won't reappoint Rafa. Kenny was beloved by fans and it puts the owners in a very awkward position if they want to make a change. If Rafa comes in and isn't an automatic success, do you think the owners want to have to go against the fans again?

Didier Deschamps anyone? Done well with Marseille

Yes he has apart from this season where they were really poor in the league. Overall though he has been a success there. A championship and 3 cups and reaching the ko stages of the champions league twice.  He can walk away from om with his head held high.

Another sad aspect of this situation is J Henry and his missus will be getting a dogs abuse on Twitter and Arsebook by so-called fans.   :(

Typical, everyone and their dog thinks they should tell them what they should do.

Shocked and dissapointed, but at the same time optimistic for the future.

Perhaps reshaping the club from top to bottom is just what we need. We're as far away as we have ever been from the Premier League title, after all.

Kenny offered stability and still remains a legend, I don't think he ever was a long-term solution. I'm just glad he's gone with his head held high. Had he stayed a third season and they finished as dissapointingly as the first two then things may have got a bit difficult.

Yeah, that'll do the trick.  ::)

FSG showed some balls today. I'm sad to see Kenny go, but can anyone say it was a great season?

I'll judge FSG by what they do now, we've got a job half done. If what they put in place works we'll see their action as being far sighted, if it doesn't work out, it'll look like a colossal cock up.

Oh FFS!!!. Some right dickheads abouts.

Yeah, terrible isn't it.  Should probably wait until they trail 4,000 miles over the Atlantic to give them the good news and how they feel.

Don't condone what some are doing but lets face it, FSG have pointed the finger of blame at everyone but themselves.  Let's cull the lot.  Probably time for these guys to take a look in the mirror and get some proper guidance on matters.

You don't fire King Kenny, you just dont, especially without having a full plan going forward, with King Kenny blessing the choices. Not after what he has done to unite this great football club. In the past, in the present.

I hope we dont pull the trigger and appoint one season ponies like Lambert or Martinez etc.Staying up is something Getting into the top 4 is something else.I'd be pessimistic about Klopp and Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas too, although they'd be top choices.
Get someone with big experience.Bielsa fits the bill after Rafa.

Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas klopp  and bielsa are all from the same style.

it would mean quite a lot fo the squad wouldnt fit in.

ill name em.

enrique
possibly kelly
spearing
gerarrd
adam
downing
carroll

basically it would mean a serious overhaul of players and would more than likely mean an indifferent start.

where as.

if you went for rafa or simeone they are capable of working with what they have and slowly getting in their players.....well simeone is unproven on the players bit.
both of those are more tactically minded rather than having just a plan A way of playing......imo the only way a club with less financial resourses can hope to challenge those with more money.

im not against the managers who have a set way mind...what puts me off is a large overhaul of players

other managers to keep an eye on.

pottechino....their squad keeps getting raided yet he has em more than safe.....i like his style....he is expansive...his side are decent to watch.....may be a bit unproven though.

frank de boer....dont really need to say much....not been in the job long but has turned ajax round....the suarez link may be beneficial???

Again i'm not advocating Martinez becoming our manager but, people should really stop comparing him to Roy Hodgson. HE IS NOTHING LIKE HIM AS A MANAGER. The only thing Roberto lacks is experience at a big club, other then that his footballing philosophy is spot on, same with Rodgers.

you're missing the point

even though hodgson brand of football he played under us was totally dreadful, a big part of his failure was that he wasn't a big name. after sacking the most successful manager in our recent history (rafa 2nd place + so on) we needed a top manager, not someone who was doing well with fulham. the same applies to martinez, he needs to show he can manage at a club with a similar environment to liverpool. how do we know what his ability on transfers are like? we don't because wigan have always been languishing 17th. not his fault he doesn't have much funds, but this is why people are comparing him. unproven at the top level.

sacking a legend like kenny we need someone proven
I think I may be turning gay. That back heel & through ball to Enrique made me jizz like Ive never jizzed before. My fiancee has got some serious work to do if she wants to get me as excited as I do about Coutinho.

I don't fucking care what happens to me on this forum but all of you absolute fucking c*nts who whinged on and on and fucking on about Kenny not being up to it can all fuck off. You don't deserve to breathe the same fucking air as him.

I am apoplectic with rage. Kenny Dalglish is an absolute legend and deserves better than this. The fucking Sky generation of "Liverpool fans" have no fucking idea about this club if you think we're better off without Kenny Dalglish at the head of this club. Football has just died a death for me today and being honest, the club that I adore has seriously dented my love for it as well. After one season. JW - I hope to fucking God that you come up with something or you will be just as fucking bad as the cancers. There is no quick fix for the misery and desolation that them c*nts put us into and sacking a club legend shows no understanding at all of football.

Today we moved decisively towards being a club which does not really look like anything which Shanks built. To a lot of people (my feeling is that its the large majority of the fans who are the hardcore supporters) something really has died today.

Maybe you have not realised that we HAD to move away from that . Liverpool way used to be winning leagues , been the best team in football and all those feelings. So you talk about Liverpool Way but you (generalising here) do not talk about how much we are challenging and what we are winning. We had 14 wins and 14 loses this year. That ALONE is not Liverpool Way. I am in no way happy that Kenny has left the club but we need to stop using this "Liverpool Way' every 5 secs. Liverpool needs to be winning and challenging and I am brave to say that I admire FSG ambitions. Wrong or right NOBODY knows unless you have a magic crystal that can read the future. Kenny WAS/IS/AND ALWAYS will be a Legend and that will never change. I think it is time LFC made some new legends and some new history instead of been stuck in the past..

The past was amazing the future looks scary...

Henry/Werner would have made this decison a while back and they sure better have a plan to get someone in quick to give assurances to the current players and to move fast in bringing in more as we'll be facing stiff competition in the transfer window.
If he retires I'll eat my fucking cock.

Sad day for the club when Kenny is told to walk away. I hope he's back very soon in some sort of role.

I do have to commend FSG though on their handling of this. They are clearly results driven, and they've made it clear they don't subscribe to the philosophy that in order to build a successful club you need to put all your backing behind one manager no matter how far off he seems from achieving the club's objectives.

Kenny is much more than a legend, to me and to any supporter with half a brain. Most of us would've felt horrible about sacking him even if he hadn't won the Carling Cup, ...and FSG were the first to realize that the dream of Kenny coming back and leading us to success was becoming less and less likely. They don't have the sentiment that we do, and maybe that's a good thing. This could have been much worse had Kenny not started to turn it around next season, and be sacked halfway through.

It seems now they gave him until the end of the season only because he had the best chance of completing the FA Cup run, and due to the respect that the fans have for him. Anyone else would've been gone with Commolli. Again, commendable considering their philosophy for running this club takes absolutely no prisoners.

Arsenal and United are examples of appointing long term managers and putting up with mediocrity while allowing a manager to build a club and hope that stability allows for success. We have to realize here we don't have owners who want to follow that example. They wont make the club about one man, whether its Kenny or not. The objective is building success in the league and getting into the CL. You either achieve that objective, or clearly show that you're making progress towards that objective ... or you're out.

Don't know if it's the best way to do things... it's not a very English approach, and it stinks a bit of Chelsea...but it seems that's the way it's going to be around here with FSG at the helm.

According to Andy Heaton we've spoken to Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas.
I like it.
Only problem was mentioned earlier. He isnt a good 30+ year-old player man manager.
What is the United line-up?
Webb, Riley, Wiley, Clattenburg, Dean, Dowd, Atkinson, Friend, Mason, Halsey and Probert

Djimi Traore has won more European Cups than London :)

Personally, I'm waiting to see who the owners appoint before slagging them off.

You are better off being a fan of another club.

The Soul of this Club was murdered today. Educate yourself.

This isnt the club i was brought up around.
great post...

This is shocking. One full season counts as time? Counts as stability? Come on Henry/Werner, that's not time. I can't hate them, not at all. They're nothing like the previous regime, and for that I'm grateful. If anything, I'm just really disappointed in them. I expected at least one more season for the king to show additional progress could be made.

I don't get this talk of young manager must mean success anyway. They need to stop looking at Pep as an example. Talented manager, but he did start his career at Bace-bloody-lona.

Well, they better get the next appointment right. And for me, the only man I wanted if KK ever left the club, would be Rafa. Never wanted him to go in the first place. He lives here, is settled and available.

I hate to be talking about replacements so soon after this shock, but they need to move fast and move forward.

Thanks for everything Kenny. Though I think you should never have been LFC manager again (because Rafa should have stayed), I was chuffed to see you in the dugout. Now, once again, never wanted you to leave and you deserved more time than you got. No matter what the idiotic media say, you are still the clubs greatest servant and will remain a legend, who along with Shanks and Paisley, is as important as the club.

YNWA.
When/If Kenny leaves, I'd only want one man at the helm... Rafael Benitez
