This.

I am absolutely broken. We were a work in transition and bam, all thrown out the fucking window. Fuck the sky sports generation.

In all honesty, I do not know anyone I'd want at the helm right now. Kenny was my hope and I knew we were going to get their eventually Kenny.

FSG better pull a blinder with this next appointment or god be saved I'm going to bowl a baseball up their tight arses.

You what?! You want our best players to fuck off? Get a grip.

Why would the likes of Suarez and Reina stick around with a low level, shite manager about? You get mid table managers you deserve mid table players and mid-table those 2 are not. If we don't get Rafa I seriously doubt we'll get anyone with any real experience or anyone up to the job.
Enemy, at that time, and now, I cant think of anything good to say about her. She's still being a c*nt

Don't think she's saying that mate, however for their careers, if we get someone like lambert or Rodgers, then they'd be better of elsewhere, we'll end up relegated if we get someone like them in IMO.

We nearly were under Roy.

If you think our clubs died, fuck off now you tit.

No need for that like, people are upset, but this isn't a school yard.

However, saying that, the last time I was in a school yard, we we're winning the league and I was still shitting my pants.

Total respect for Kenny as a man and our former manager. I am gutted he has gone, it was a nice sentiment for the owners to be swayed by public opinion in selecting him, but I'm a realist and I can see why the owners would want a change in leadership.

It's a pile of shit, I'm properly gutted, but there's nothing we/I can realistically do about it so I can only look forward and support the club I love.

Rafa Benitez has a good CV on record, he will be a good firm favourite, but I would seriously doubt the owners would want to re-appoint him, and I don't have any core foundation for that statement, much like a lot of people haven't who are adamant, that it simply has to be Rafa Benitez.

No it doesn't and that's, that.

In the past I have always stood by one of my favourite managers, Martin O'Neill. After reading about some of the candidates, I'd pretty much still stick my neck out and say I'd prefer Martin O'Neill over the likes of Brendan Rodgers, Martinez, Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas and even glove puppet Capello.

But just checking on OddsChecker, which is a pile of shite anyway, I would like to add to this discussion that there is some shocking odds for candidates on there, and whilst I'm not a betting man, it is quite interesting to read who is defining the betting market. With Rafa, Martinez, Rogers, Rijkarrd, Boas all on the top of of the bookies favourites.

Pep Gardiola is also up there, but I'd tender a bet that he is more suited to the Chelsea Bumboys.

It's going to be an interesting few days, I just hope we don't end up like another Chelsea, like some has stated before, I don't think it will happen, and we are a better club, with better fans, but ultimately the realisation is that the Owners run the club and if they aren't happy well... things change.

You know what, i have just got home, sky news "liverpool sack kenny dalglish", well fuck me sideways, Shankly will be turning in his grave, fucking disgrace, you know all you fans every match thread "im not having a go at kenny but he should go" well you have go what you wanted, hope your all fucking happy. Do you understand really whats just happened? Liverpool way my arse, there is no liverpool way anyway, this clubs finished. Finished. You can cry about "its the auld arses need to move on", " moneyball" (which is a c*nt of a word), "sky sports fans" stick it all up your arse.
This man, yes this man has just been sacked, after getting to two cup finals in his first season TWO FUCKING CUP FINALS, there is no hope for any more managers. TIME YOU NEED TO GIVE PEOPLE TIME, and if you can't give a legend who gets to two finals in his first full season time, your fucked, fucked as a club.

We stood apart from the rest of the world, for our ways, our banter, our respect, our loyalty. We thats all gone, all of it. So what does the new manger have to do now, well i'll tell you what, he has to win every game, 5 games in yes 5 games in i will put my life on it you twats (you know who your are) will be calling for his head.

The same man you all wanted knighting, if this club even offer him a job on the coaching staff or as a steward, director of football whatever he should tell them to stick it up their arse, their is only so much one man can give, and this man gave our club everything.

I see Rafa's name being mentioned, eh , fucking great, lets take him down with us as well, If that man had any sense he'd be on a plane to get a million miles away from our club.

So in ten years time when our 8th manager in ten years comes in, will you all be smiling then eh?

I'm finished with this shit. This isnt the club i was brought up around.

Fucking exactly mate - couldn't have put that any better

I know a lot of people are upset but i think FSG made it clear that they wanted champions league football after spending 100m...screw net spend....

just because we got 50m for Torres doesn't mean you go out and spend it all...The players Kenny brought in at those inflated prices didn't do him any favours at all....Add to that players like Spearing (who were headed out the door under rafa) claiming "they deserve a place in the starting 11"...something went wrong with Kenny's best thought quality of man management. He wasn't able to motivate them consistently enough. He kept playing under performing players like downing and henderson over Kuyt, who you know will work his socks off on the pitch...I think his sentiment and soft side went against him...he wasn't ruthless enough.

If you spend that kind of money properly finishing 4th or higher with the problems arsenal, spurs and chelsea had at various parts of the season would not have been an issue.

Add to that scraping past Cardiff for the Carling Cup and then not turning up for the 1st 60mins against Chelsea which probably showed a true reflection of the state of things...

I thought he would have got another year to get it right. I just think they lost confidence in the way Kenny would spend the any funds available this time...

He was never in there plans to begin with, they were left to appoint him without probably thinking he would do as well as he did within the 1st 6 months...

Lets just wait and see what happens now. If we do better next season their decision would be justified. Realistically a top 4 challenge next season would be extremely difficult unless we had "the special one"...I think even he or Guardiola would struggle to do it without spending atleast Ł50m....so good luck to whoever the next manager is.

FSG have to be prepared to back any new manager with decent funds if they are serious about making it back into the top 4 next season.

Now i'm not advocating Martinez being our next manager but, how the hell do you know it would be catastrophic? You got a crystal ball or something? For what its worth I think his footballing philosophy is the correct way to play. Its just that he lacks experience but, so did Klopp, Guardiola and Conte and they didn't do too badly did they?
I'm not advocating him, but he does know a thing or two about tactics if it came to that. It's the reason why Wigan can pull a rabbit out of a hat against the big teams. What other british manager or englishmanager would feel comfortable playing 3-4-3? Or would even consider it? Zacto!

To be fair to Martinez, he's done very well from day one, including swansea and norwich before the wigan job. A brit by association, but a spaniard who would know a thing or two about football.

Honestly think the Chelsea and Liverpool jobs are very different. I'd take Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas, to be honest, he was nothing short of brilliant at Porto. Reckon his high line tactics would work much better here as well. Would be a risk though.

I'd like one of Rafa, Klopp, Bielsa or Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas.

I think one of the problems with Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas would be what he ran into at Chelsea, and that is being an unproven manager who is trying to force players into a completely different system. It was obvious that the leadership at Chelsea rejected his tactics, and it ultimately cost him results and his job.

I don't think it would be quite as bad at LFC, but if he insisted on playing the same style he did in Portugal, I'm not sure he'd have much success.

I think the owners have made a big call but ultimately the correct one. We were not progressing. The league form was awful.

The next call they make is even bigger. They need to get the right man. Always a gamble regardless of the appointment.

That's like standing at the side of the road after your parents have been killed in a car crash and getting excited about who your foster parents might be...
That actually gave me half a smile on a sad, sad day Alan.

Honestly think the Chelsea and Liverpool jobs are very different. I'd take Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas, to be honest, he was nothing short of brilliant at Porto. Reckon his high line tactics would work much better here as well. Would be a risk though.

I'd like one of Rafa, Klopp, Bielsa or Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas.

my issue with Luís André de Pina Cabral e Villas-Boas would be that he didn't show much cop when dealing with senior players at chelsea.
he seems very single-minded, his way or the highway.
this only works when you can get people onside, which he failed miserably to do at chelsea.
