Two cup finals should have given him the benefit of any doubt.

My big worry is that bridges may have been burnt and the man who should be the guardian of the club is once again cast into the wilderness

Thank you Kenny - from the bottom of my heart
If my assistant had not signalled a goal, I would have given a penalty and sent off goalkeeper Patr Cheh. he beeped me to signal the foul. The noise from the crowd  stopped me hearing it, I have been involved at places like Barcelona, Ibrox, Old Trafford, Arsenal, but I've never in my life been involved in such an atmosphere. IT WAS INCREDIBLE

Regardless of what i think really hope that FSG have got someone lined up and are confident of recruiting them.

If we have a manger by end of May then at least FSG have been decisive and it'll allow time for new manager to assess the club, if this drags out then i fear for the club as there currently appears to be very little structure with the amount of personnel leaving lately.

BIG summer ahead.

I think there is a danger here that FSG want a commercially friendly manager. A sky favourite, someone who will have a laugh with ferguson following a defeat to the mancs, and someone who will basically be a yes man, not just to them, but to sky etc too.

anybody left at the club?  How can they recruit any manager any time soon if they do not have any organisation at the club.  I think they will do the appointment after the Euros unless they recruit a manager and ask him to bring his own DoF

Not happy with this decision, ok we didnt do well in the league but 2 finals and 1 cup in a season is good, think he should have 1 more year.
Only 2 people I would take as manager are Rafa Benitez or Pep Guardiola.

Martinez is a risk

Looks like FSG are not to be messed about and demand success, in a way that can be good and bad for a club

I wouldn't want Martinez.  Look what happened last time we hired a 'Flavour of the Month' manager ...

Rafa was manager for 5 years though.

Its akin to Mr Alex Ferguson leaving United and someone saying 2 managers in 1 year. When infact it would be 2 in 20+.

It's a bit dramatic, but that's statistics for you.
It's just sex and violence, melody and silence.

Its a disgraceful decision and a knee jerk reaction, who ever is advising these people need shooting. That said the only one who can come in now and take us to glory is Benitez, all this Boas/Martinez Brendan Rodgers bollocks, some people havent got a fucking clue.

The only way they can make good of this drastic measure is by appointing someone who is better than Dalglish and thers not that many out there, those that are, are at winning clubs. The man in the Wirral is primed and ready and i hope FSG know what they are doing.

This makes the Torres stuff last year pale into insignificance. For me the big question is how this will affect the so-called 'expensive flops'. Will they be seen as Kenny's men and shipped out? Will the owners tell a new manager that there's little or nothing  to spend and that he must get performances out of them that Kenny couldn't?

Speculating about a replacement feels wrong just now, just want to say it's been a special privilege that three generations of my family got to see Kenny in the dugout at Anfield AND celebrate a trophy at Wembley together, special memories

Disagree. They are businessmen, they act as businessmen. I think they've shown quite a lot of decisiveness with Kenny right now. I have my faith that they will manage to choose a new manager properly.

I dont understand why everyone is assuming that whoever wanted Rafa out wants Kenny out too and if you supported Rafa you now support Kenny too? I always thought firing Rafa was a mistake. And I think letting Kenny go is not. Yes there is risk involved. But there was also risk involved of relegation if we had continued our last years league form.

The club isn't going anywhere. Just because you don't like the decision FSG made doesn't mean we're any less of a club. Sure, you can be mad, but if you're going to start doubting the club and talking shit about the club, you're on the wrong side of Merseyside.

No I meant last 6 months form. Is it too much to say that this league campaign, anyone who is not named Kenny as a manager of LFC would have got the sack?

I think you really misunderstand FSG.

A commercially friendly manager is a winner.  End of story.  That's what puts buts in seats and get the tops to fly out of the club shop and FSG know this.

Right you've sacked one of the most loved men in the history of the club. Given the choice I would trust Kenny to run the whole club literally give him it.

To sack anyone after one season in the position of totally rebuilding the team after H+G is nonsense.

FSG need to come up with an experienced Champions League level manager and a credible stadium plan to justify this short term bullshit.

If they don't fans have every right to be in total uproar.

dont be an idiot... how about we trust the  owners. of course the decision wouldnt have suited everyone, me personally like a lot would have give kenny another season to get it right but the owners have made a decision and have been respectful to kenny and decisive at the same time. Your response is child like at best.

now ive had time to reflect, and see all the managers names been thrown about, i even did it myself, but its just hitting home what a bad decision it is, im trying not to be too pissed of with fsg but i mean its pretty hard, they really need to produce the goods in terms of getting the right people to go froward,
they have put themselves under a lot of pressure too
if you wanna be the best you gotta beat the best

I'll make two predictions of this...Carroll won't score 3 PL goals total for the rest of the year and we won't score 5 against any team all year.  We might still get CL football without either happening.

I believe Werner when he says this decision wasn't easy.  I think they have a plan they're ready to roll out, they have a completely clean slate aside from Ayre who they've stuck by.  Director of Football is just as key as the manager is.  They know they're on a timetable with transfer season starting, and we need scouts at the Euros etc.  FSG doesn't strike me as a group that makes rash decisions, cautiously optimistic that they have a plan to take us back where we belong.  I'm hoping for a certain manager, but it'd make too much sense for it happen.  I believe in FSG, they seem to get it, even with this sacking.  Blind faith, I guess you'd call it, one last time.
