Is it just me.... Or does anyone feel we will pull off a major signing under the radar? Suarez style.

If we have a summer of:

Gylfi
Adam Johnson
Rondon
Caulker

Will that be a good summer or a bad one?
Even if that were good mate,we need a DM badly.
What is the United line-up?
Webb, Riley, Wiley, Clattenburg, Dean, Dowd, Atkinson, Friend, Mason, Halsey and Probert

Djimi Traore has won more European Cups than London :)

Imagine this scenario....

The talk of the strict 30m budget was right.

We just signed Sigurdsson for 8.5m.

Now who do YOU buy with the remaining 21.5m??

I honestly dont get this point of veiw.

1. Who's to say we dont finish top four without any signings?
2. How does anyone know who we are/are not interested in buying?
3. The transfer window isn't even open yet?
4. Shouldn't we have more patients?
5. How can you complain about inactivity if you've already decided we have no money or targets?
6. Seems to me your ready to turn on the owners if they don't bring in the type of player you want.

No, I think we had enough injuries last season.
A definite cauldron of noise.

A very good DM/CM who could play with or replace Lucas and a cheap winger. Taking sales into account, the CM/DM & Ramirez.

Fuck knows who we'd sell though. Probably make our money back on Adam if we tried. Actually we need a striker too. Got his work cut out has Rodgers if we're on a budget.

Swap Caulker for Fernando Reges and Id be happy. Be more happy if you took Adam Johnson out of that list too.

Should we be trying to enter a bidding war with Newcastle for De Jong? They obviously want him, but there's no way Twente will accept £8m.

How much would we get in sales? 1mil for Kuyt, 1 mil for Aquilani, 1 mil for Cole.

So 33mil and thats if we can shift this lot.

If Newcastle want him, it probably means he's bloody good. I'd like him to backup Carroll, he's young enough to accept that and has enough potential to lead the line for years to come.

Probably make our money back from Adam, at least £5m. Spearing could probably fetch a couple. Think we'd get 2-3 for Cole off a West Ham/QPR. His wages are the problem.

Fuck it, I'm taking me dog for a walk. The pair of us are completely bollocksed and take turns a piece dragging one another along. We look a bit like one of Roy's midfield pairings, but with a wee bit more guile and panache. Well, on the dog's side, anyway

I don't think Rodgers will be the man making the decision about Joe Cole. His exorbitant wages means it'll be FSG who decide to get rid of him.

I would try and squeeze Sturridge and Borini out of that 21.5m

In the new world all the players will be responsible for both defensive and attacking duties.... therefore don't see much point buying an out and out defensive Midfielder!
We weren't poor last season because of our central midfield..... we were because we couldn't finish teams off when we created the chances so I would invest in more options upfront.
These two give us more options up front.

Which club is going to give him 90k a week if he leaves?

I seriously doubt we'll allow a repeat of last year where we paid 60k out of his 90k.

I would sell Adam, Spearing and Joe Cole which would probably give us around 12 Million + 1Million from Kuyt sales bringing our total to around 34m

Left Wing: Christian Tello/Affelay (8m)
Defensive Midfield: Bruno Soriano/Fernando Gago(7m)
Strikers: Luuk De Jong/Fabio Borini (12m) + Jordan Rhodes/Wilfried Zaha (7m)

That would be the stuff of dreams for me.

Adam and Maxi both leave. Aqua and Joe stay, not saying I want this to happen but I think it might. Just because there both on massive wages I can't for the life of me see us shifting them and I don't think loan moves will happen for them this time round.

No club will. That's why I think we'll forgo a transfer fee, so the club that takes him is able to give him a big signing on fee with smaller wages.

Charlie Adam - 5-6m (mid table club)
Spearing - 3-4m (lower -mid table end club)
Joe Cole - 2-3M (lower - mid end table club ) - provided he reduces his wages

Being slightly optimistic of course :)

Okay actually now that i think about it, im probably being too optimistic

Not saying I want them gone, but Adam would probably be valued around 6-8m, Spearing around 3 or 4m and Cole would leave for free. I still think Jay and Charlie could have a place in the squad though.

Any transfer fee we get for Joe Cole will probably be spent on Joe Cole so that he's willing to accept a lower contract at QPR, West Ham, etc.

On the bright side though we've already shifted a 100k per week off our wage bill and if Cole goes, that's another 100k. Being able to get some of the high earners off our wage bill is going to be key for us + it will have a say in how much we'll be able to spend.

I think we could be able to get 2M for Spearing & around 5 for Adam.
