2012-13 Television shows.
« on: May 14, 2012, 04:46:33 PM »
It's that time of year where Pilots are being screened and chosen for networks.

NBC has just released it's new schedule and here are a lot of trailers for potential good shows/comedies.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/upfronts-2012-nbc-trailers-ryan-murphy-new-normal-jj-abrams-revolution-323809?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+thr%2Fnews+%28The+Hollywood+Reporter+-+Top+Stories%29

Feel free to share any new trailers you've seen that might be good.

Only saw the "Revolution" trailer, thought it was decent.

I've given up watching any of this shit. They're either gash (and trust me, that new Abrams show will be shit) or they get cancelled anyway.

If a show does really well and interests me, I'll probably start watching a couple of years down the line, when I know it's not going to get dicked about. The big networks are mostly run by idiots, you wanna stick with the premium ones, HBO, Showtime, FX etc. Not only do they make better shows, but they rarely cancel them.

PS That Abrams show is on NBC. NBC cancel EVERYTHING.
Its like if I called you a wanker, im not actually slagging you off for wanking, as i quite like to do that myself.

Not a "new" show but Boardwalk Empire will be starting again in September (season three) and that is one fucking amazing show.

I challenge that. Breaking Bad season 5 is coming soon.

And I'll raise you Walking Dead season 3 on top of that, as well as what could be an interesting series of Dexter. Good times.

There are about three different serial killer shows starting. One based on Hannibal Lecter, another one from HBO which I think focuses more on the investigation and one other that escapes me right now.

Looking forward to seeing Terry O'Quinn (John Locke) back in a main role in 666 Park Avenue.

It's one of the few 'well known' TV shows that i still haven't watched.Read somewhere that it's a bit like The Sopranos but with bikes? Is there any truth to it and is it any good?

Its a decent show. A little over the top and unrealistic at times but a good solid drama show. Don't watch it with the mindset of comparing it to The Sopranos cause its basically nothing like it and the Sopranos will always be a mountain away from most shows in terms of quality.

Have been very disappointed with a lot of these recent new shows. Homeland seemed to be the only one worth watching. I tried to get into Awake and Touch but they weren't grabbing me. NBC (like previously mentioned) will give most of these shows 12 episodes before cancelling them anyway. That revolution will have a lot of hype just like Flashforward did. The concept brings in the audience and then you get let down once you actually watch 5-6 episodes

I don't think it compares at all, other than they're involved in illegal activities and the group is very tight-knit.

Erm I wouldn't compare it to the sopranos to be honest. Still a really good programme though in my opinion and id say it's worth a watch

Will you please kindly refrain from all this rational common sense bollocks.
