I can only personally say ... and I hope HJC hear this ..... I think their criticism of the club is totally unfounded..... as from today I withdraw all support and it has been considerable in the past.

I hope you happen to see what my thoughts on that were on the last page.  I wish those families and HJC could see that and maybe understand...I think the kit honors the tragedy better than before, but that is simply my opinion.  Never forgotten, always close to our hearts, and now we carry that weight on our shoulders...so I guess I just wish they could see that with every kit sold and worn, by player or fan, that we all want to help carry the load, so to speak.

As much as I really like the design, have to say I'm not a fan of the Polo.  Seems more like a casual shirt to wear out, rather than a football jersey. Maybe it's just me.

That design, on the v-neck style shirt from 09 and I'd be in love! haha

Will likely still get it though.  My next one was going to be Pepe, and I do like the green.

I know some have commented negatively on the use of the word ‘Warrior’ under their logo. I think you'll see that once the brand grows this will be dropped in a similar fashion to brands like Apple, Nike, Adidas.

Do you know what the beef is? It's not about the shirt and the flames placement.

It's the club stating they consulted families when they never spoke to the HJC. Just like they never have.

They've stated its NOT about the shirt, its about the clubs statement

Warrior's sales approach
« Reply #217 on: May 12, 2012, 08:24:53 AM »
With all the euphoria over the new kit (and rightly so, it looks boss) it just got me thinking about how Warrior and/or the club aim to sell these.

Now, when we had a tie up with Adidas, we made use of their franchise stores worldwide, and that got us a lot of sales. But the last time I checked, Warrior, or any of their subsidiaries, don't have any such stores worldwide.

Just a little example. I live in India, and in my city (Bangalore) alone, there are about 15 Adidas stores which sell Liverpool merchandise, including the kit. The home kit sold at Rs. 3000 (roughly 35 quid). Now if I were to order it online, including shipping and handling, it comes up to about Rs.5200. Now that's a huge difference. I mean I'll still buy it, but there are a lot of people who'll be put off by it. And not every fan has access to online shopping.

A fan club here asked Warrior Football on Twitter how they're gonna market their merchandise in this part of the world, and they said something along the lines of we're working on it, we'll let you know soon.

My only worry is this will not only reduce the number of shirt sales, but will also encourage people to buy cheaper knock-offs. You can get cheaper, local ones here for Rs. 350 ( about 4 pounds). And a lot of people will end up buying those instead as it's easier to buy rather than order online, which really hasn't caught on that much. Yet.

Either way, the club will end up losing revenue. Have Warrior made any announcement regarding this?

P.S. Sorry if this has already been covered in another thread

No comparison of Adidas' sales and distribution network with Warrior/New Balance . Adidas is simply in another league all together. Even Nike cannot compete with Adidas' S&D I reckon.

Here in North America I don't think it will be that big an issue but I am concerned about Asia/Europe.

I think there are quite a few NB stores in Asia. For Europe shipping isn't that expensive.

What they should do is sell it online but distribute it locally. That will make a big difference in cutting down the shipping cost.

Not the point. Of course everyone bought it cos it was Liverpool, not cos it was Adidas. The issue is of access to the merchandise.

Missing the point by a country mile. We were discussing the strength of Adidas' sales and distribution network and the easy access to their merchandise. Lets face it, you will find an Adidas' store almost anywhere in the world. And you might have access to a store or buy it online or something but many cannot/will not.

I was not referring to any 'loyalty' towards Adidas or something.

This is the whole reason Warrior sponsored us - retailers will WANT to stock it as know it will sell so will approach Warrior themselves, and then they will probably make them take a range of Warrior items and not just the shirt/merchandise.

Yeah , but the point is they will never be able to match Adidas' or the other bigger names when it comes to S&D networks. They will have to find other ways to make up that disadvantage , maybe through pricing. I don't know , I am not a marketing guy.  :D

People on here are actually against what the HJC want, which is a level-footing amongst the Hillsborough groups?

Sound that. To redress the balance, I'd like to state again that I fully support the HJC, both in their statement and in their goals. Every home game, I queue up, put my few quid in the bucket, and go in and ask how things are going.

Support the HJC. What a joke it is having to type that on here. It'd be laughable if it wasn't so fucking grim.

They'll have to tie up with local retailers. You can safely rule out tie-ups with other sporting goods franchises. And that's gonna be a lengthy process cos it'll have to be done on a market by market basis.

Sorry to sound all arty ... but the red WILL appear to look more orange and warm and that's because all the motifs and lettering are yellow.  It's a slight trick of the eye.

Oh, and I'll say it now ..... the blue Prem badges that they'll wear on the side will totally ruin the effect.

All 3 primary colours in one place should NEVER be seen!

Like I said ... sorry to be arty but I am a graphic designer.

The year after, the Premier League badges will be gold too. Just put up with it for a year. ;)
