I don't think anyone actually means they are literally (unofficial) touts but they are sure as hell the closest thing to a tout without actually being a tout - and that is only because they have the permission of the club to charge those ridiculous prices. In essence it is hardly different from what a tout does (the only differences being that it's risk-free, allowed by the club and they give you quite a shitty meal or something to make it seem worth the money).

the only difference between them an touts, is that touts can be arrested. Morally its the same thing.

Yeah I mentioned it's risk-free (for seller and buyer). Either way though it's awful but I suppose it's common practice and a good source of income for the club so nothing we can do.

the whole ThomasCook thing is a con.  what gets me with them.

Yes they can sort you out and confirm a ticket for the United Match now..

but for example they are looking to charge £602.00 for 2 people (share room) to stay in Hampton by Hilton City Centre, plus 2 match tickets.

obviously Match tickets are £50 a head if ya DIY, so these conmen are making £502 for one night stay in a 3 star hotel.

even for the lower valued games they want near £200 a head for 1 night stay and a match ticket.. anytime I book Hampton by Hilton, costs between 65-100 quid and thats per room not per person.

Thomas Cook are worse than touts :(

If sales are supposed to start next Saturday,  ::) why the fuck have they still not announced anything? It's not like we haven't got plans to make and money to find.

I'm with you mate, this is fecking stupid.  Although from hearsay we know roughly when the sale is, I need specific dates to sort out leave, late starts etc.  I just don't believe they don't know at this stage when it will take place, so just announce it.  If they don't know, this just emphasises what a bunch of spanners they are.

Ok,

As Chairman of a Branch I have good news for all Members

LFC have taken away all but 4 games of the Official Branches ticket allocations and added the tickets to the Members sale = 2,500 approx

Now the bad news for Members

Official Branches will now be buying the tickets from the Members sale!!!

I'm very aware that they are not touts. But they aren't much better. I've been offered tickets by touts cheaper than what Thomas Cook sell at.

What tout gives you a hotel too?

We have 13+ on each members card in our Branch as we travelled to most games, and I guess most Branch will be the same

Gonna be huge demand for the Members Tickets this Season with us Branches in the mix aswell now

If each member in your branch has 13+ games on their members card from last season, surely it wont make a difference, as they would have been bought in the members sales no?

What tout gives you a hotel too?

Look at the figures. They are charging in excess of £300 for certain games. Take out the cost of a hotel, say £50, I'll even say £80 if they are throwing in a breakfast. So without a hotel they are charging £220-£250 for a ticket. As I said, I have been offered cheaper off touts

Did they give any reason for this?  Can't really see what it achieves apart from more people buying on the same day

Get them their money in the bank quicker, branches didn't have to pay for games until about 3 weeks before games. Mind you LFC made sure they took monies for league games that they knew were going to be rescheduled because of cup runs i.e Everton, Chelsea, Fulham only to make the branches wait many weeks before a refund

Not if they buy for themselves or get the money to the branch quickly.otherwise the branch will need a huge gloat to get the tickets

When did these go on sale last year in July? Wasn't it like the 12th July or something. They can't be going on sale this week...even this saturday like a few people have mentioned (granted people are saying the w/c the 7th). There's just not enough time. Can see these going on sale on the 16th myself.

The 1st sale last year commenced on Mon 11/07.

If they did do the corresponding day this year (Mon 09/07), then don’t be surprised if the club announce that this Wednesday is the last day that you can obtain membership in time for the 1st sale next Monday.

I hope you are right about the 16th though as at least Sly Sports and ESPN will have announced the TV games by then.

dont think i used the new queue system at the end of the season but I assume this will mean it is a proper first come first served.

rather than how it has worked in the past, where even thought we sitting from 7.45 waiting to get on my 30minute time out. but someone turns up at 8.35 and still managed to get a ticket before me.

a few people that had phoned the ticket office / customer services last week, or who had received sales calls from staff trying to sell them membership packs had been told the tickets will go on sale on 7th, which is this Saturday, if thats the case you would of thought they would let people know before now.  some say Saturday is a strange day but think a lot complained last year about having to take time off work etc, but if they do go on sale this Saturday its just going to be 13/14/15 or whatever the priority number is for games from last season. anyone with lower will probably need to fight with everyone else during the following week at some point or the week after :(

16th is the day Members have to sign up to the ACS too, hopefully that won't make logging on any harder for that day's sale.

In simple terms:

Tuesday 17th July - adult/child sales
Wednesday 18th July - pre req adult sales? But this could be the misprint!
Thursday 19th July - cat C sale from 2pm
Friday 20th July - A and b free for all sale
