Ticket prices frozen for 2012-13 season
« on: May 9, 2012, 09:06:03 AM »
Anyone got any educated guesses?

Think we will see the start of tiered pricing like in the cups this season?

Not a particularly educated guess, but I reckon/fear:

Wings of Kop - £750
Back of Kop - £800
Middle of Kop - £850
Wings of main stand / cent - £850
Middle of main stand / cent - £950
Middle of Anfield Road - £900
Wings of Anfield Road - £850

£850 - that's £125 up on this season! Bloody hope not but fear you may be right. I think they should also take row number into account when setting the price but doubt they will.  :-\

Few lads suggesting around £900+ for the middle of the LC so those estimates might not be far off. If closer to £950 then it will be an increase of £170  :-\

Not sure they can justify putting them up by much per season from then on. Best get saving hey.

Without wishing to have a dig at you personally, is this not precisely the attitude that lets them get away with it?

I see where you are coming from but, no, not really. Surely any ST has thoughts in mind for money for the following season, whether it be the full amount or sharing.
I paid my ST last year on the back of savings I already had. Saving money now and not struggle for any cup finals, away games and Euro's. Do it now and throughout the summer as I always have done and be better off for it come xmas when I can do what I like while mates struggle with kids and whatever else they have on going.

It's something I do regardless, away from football. I'm after some Euro aways again, so that's what I'm now saving for.

I already have my money for next season ST.   :boxhead

I will just add this though, I stopped going regularly from 2004 until the last few years for financial reasons. Mortgage, getting first house that sort of thing. I see myself as better off and mature about my spending, if I wasn't there is no way I could combine everything. Anyone wants support in bringing down prices, getting the young lads back into games and making it all the more affordable then count me in. I got priced out once before, might do again one day soon, you just never know.

I hope they don't go up and I dont think they should put them up. In fact I would think they would have a cheek to put them up. Moneywise the gap between the fans and players and some staff at LFC is already at a all time low. Most people are skint, whilst the players go off to moonlight spending fortunes on holidays and other stuff we as fans can only dream of. As they say Thats Life, but I reckon I am not the only one thinking the game is getting very expensive!

Unfortunately if your not prepared to pay there is someone else that is.

Im not saying thats right but in a way the different prices for different areas could be the fair solution.

If you can only afford to pay so much you get a worse seat - I know people have had the same places for ages but if it keeps your price down the cost for this is a different view.

Thats all very well.  But my fear is that the cheapest seat next season will be on par with the most expensive last season.  And the most expensive from last season will rise significantly.  And we can't have every season ticket holder squeezed into the wings of the Kop.

Also, what if they don't allow you to move seats???

Liverpool Football Club today announced that it would freeze ticket prices for the 2012-13 season.

Managing director Ian Ayre said: "We have always aimed to ensure that we match our commercial and financial aspirations with the interests of our fans.

"In 2011 we increased prices in line with inflation and the government rise in VAT to 20 per cent, but having reviewed the current UK economic climate and our up and down team performance we felt it important to flatten prices despite UK inflation being around 3.5 per cent.

"Our fans have shown tremendous support for the team this season, at home and away, and with long runs in both the FA Cup and Carling Cup, we wanted to recognise that commitment with this announcement today."

Yep - it was 59 nicker last season?  didnt go the league, but went in the cup for 25 quid, unless its a cup game, im done with chelsea

i know we're not that cheap, but i remember a few lads on the coach a wile back discussing, 'at what point do you stop?'

alot of the time people ask if you fancy it and you say yeah fuck it why not, but now i'm at the point where if its over 55 i wont go (only exception is if its not a ground ive been to)

Sir, the cash monies?

Being that winning the League Cup and so very nearly winning the FA Cup is not enough to save a manager's job unless he gets 4th place in the league - will the club be significantly be reducing the prices of Cup games for the future seasons?

The new manager coming in will surely not risk injury or fatigue for his top 11-18 players in the Cup competitions - especially as they'll be needed to push for 4th and guarantee his job for the next season?

So how much more of a discount will it be to watch the reserves and kids in the Cups in the coming season, with the owners seemingly confirming that the manager cannot afford to take these competitions seriously?

How bad are chelsea's restricted view tickets that the price drops from £61 to £23.50 in the Matthew Harding Lower?

We knock a quid off for a terrible view on the back row of the lower anny.

you make a good point here. There is a clear message that winning cups is not the priority (huge mistake from the fans point but makes business sense).  Who is going to want to take the job knowing only CL qualification will save you.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but apart from Man U at home in the FA and Man City at home in the Carling, ticket prices were reduced in any case.  I fully expect that to continue as there is no doubt that demand is low for Cup games, especially against lower league opposition.  I think the Europa could have really poor crowds unless tickets are a decent price.  Premiership and Champions League is whhere the demand is.

Apologies, I should have made it clearer, I meant further reductions based on last years' prices.
